I just finished Claymore and I thought it was neat. What did you anons think of it?

I lost track of it at some point so I have to complete it.
Angel Densentsu is so good I binge read it every few years.
I'm really digging Ariadne in the Blue Sky is interesting as a Shonen. It is interesting that the body count is kept so very low.
One of my favorite manga of all time.
Went to shit after the timeskip, should have ended after the war of the north
Very nice, but I thought it last longer than it needs. To be honest the ending is also not memorable, which is quite dissapointing for me.
I loved it, the ending was beautiful
Discount Berserk
Underrated... Like the author since Angel
At least Claymore had steady monthly updates and a proper ending. Its been thirty fucking years and Berserk is still going. Keep waiting for Muira to finish faggot. I'm sure he'll give you a proper ending.
>had steady monthly
Yes.
>proper ending
No.
>Keep waiting for Muira to finish
If Miura needs years to make a satisfying ending then I'm agree to wait some more time.
The author obviously stopped wanting to kill off popular characters about two-thirds of the way through. Otherwise, it was alright.
Angel Densetsu is superior, however.
Is this what Stockholm Syndrome looks like?
I'd toss a coin to that witcher, if you know what I mean.
last volume
too much Teresa
I love her but c'mon
yep but Yagi knows how to end the story at least
Has shortcomings, but not so big that you can't enjoy it.
Also, for me, it's Yuma!
>If Miura needs years to make a satisfying ending.
LAMO You are never going to get an ending. NEVER! You can wait another 5 years and you'll probably get another chapter filled with giant black dicks. If this isn't Muira giving Bersek fans a big Fuck You and Fuck Off then I don't what is. It doesn't matter if you didn't like the ending. Claymore got closure and everything was settled. There were a few asspulls along the way but which manga doesn't? Claymore is a great story with great moments and great art.
Naked blonde silver-eyed monster girls fighting to the death while searching for a reason to keep on living? Best IP ever. Too bad it's dead.
I dropped it like 90% of the way through when it was still coming out because in a monthIy I couldn't tell the sameface claymores apart without flash cards. I can't remember shit so a quarantine marathon is probably the last time in my life I'd ever bother rereading it so I guess it's time.
Claymore also has 10/10 monster design.
It was alright, but I was disappointed because Yas Forums hyped it up so much for me. The story was nothing special and at times it was excruciating. The sameface was terrible and most people had really weird flat faces and ridiculous skull-shapes. There were some pretty sweet monster designs, but not as much as I had hoped based off of things like what the OPTs implied. I did not like Clare. Best girls were Teresa and Roxanne.
I disagree strongly with because for me Teresa was the only saving grace of the ending.
is the anime good? is it true that it's decent adaptation except for two last episodes?
Roxanne was the weakest out of all the abyssals. Utterly useless after firing her octopus arms. There's a reason why she tasted like shit.
It's pretty solid, the last eps aren't bad, it's just that they pulledman abrupt anime-original ending
Was it as dark as Berserk? I like the look of it but I tend to stay away from shit that tends to get a bit to cynical.
There's not a rape every few chapters, if that's what you're asking.
100% this
No matter how ridiculous the asspulls were, the designs made up for everything
Teresa was the reason everything started, make sense she comes back at the end.
The circle is close, all is well: from now on this will be our island, we don't give a flying fuck about the war in the continent, leave us alone.
Best girl was the only loli in the story
it's ridiculously comfy
It wasn’t even that, it just felt like any character who would do something nice would be followed up on by having their whole family torture, raped, and murdered in some horrible way. Got a bit to much for me. I’ll go ahead and check Claymore out though.
Miata is the superior infantile girl. But I will give you Dauf as best boy. He was much better than I expected. Btw if anyone tries to tell me Raki is best boy I will slay you where you stand.
Things are grim in Claymore, but there's almost always some hope on the horizon, so it doesn't grate.
Raki was the worst part of the manga and anime.
Riful was cool AF. She was the only abyssal i would have saved.
There have to be people that are only useful as food for her too.
It's ok.There are a couple of chapters you could do without; it goes overboard with the power-creep by the end; kid Raki was in desperate need of a good gassing.Ophelia was BEST girl.It has an actual fucking ending, unlike a certain dead horse.
Enjoyed it overall.
That’s good to hear. Downloading it now and gonna read it after Fire Punch. I appreciate the info.
best boy isley was best, he didnt deserve it
also what happend to the abyss feeders?
A solid manga. Had cool monster designs and a generally satisfying story. FUCK Priscilla.
I liked it but the final portion was kind of jammed together in terms of pacing and I wish there was more follow up on the root of the organization and who was leading it outside the island.
>doesn't want horrible things to constantly happen to characters
>reads Fire Punch
It was very solid. It was weaker after the northern campaign but it didn't shit the bed. I found the Clare/Raki star crossed love to be endearing and it was satisfying to see it actually work.
Claymore also has a good ending, which can't be said for many other manga that have shit endings or incomplete manga like Berserk. I can't understand people rating Berserk higher when there's no hope for it ever completing.
I just started it, didn’t know it was that sort of manga.
This guy was lame as Hell. Lame in deeds and lame in design. Especially so since his boss had a choice fucking character design as a monster.
Berserk has arcs that are in themselves better than entire series.
I never understood how she survived without any arms.
Based
Raki killed the story for me, after timeskip he was unbearable shit who couldn't get killed, after timeskip he suddenly became a strong capable warrior as strong as female Claymores for some reason and it was such shitty thing to see Claire caring for him and Teresa giving her the blessing.
Its like whole manga was turned to shit just to enforce some idiotic Raki existence but now seeing this author new manga with male MC harem story it was obvious why Raki was kept alive so much cause that is clearly author fetish in the stories.
Author killed his own manga with one of most shitty male characters where every time he showed in story wanted me to kill how painfully that was to read.
I don't udnderstand why he couldn't just kill the little shit before timeskip than bend the story after it to make him important for no reason than self-insertion variety of male readers.
That author never actually moved the story on the continent is a crime itself.
We can all agree Isley was the best Abyssal One and had the worst end by far right?
You can evaluate some things even without them having an ending. Like totally incomplete works like the Canterbury Tales. And you can with Berserk especially since most of the time when people are talking about how great Berserk is, they're referring just to the Golden Age or maybe Lost Children if they're a pedo.
Apples and oranges. Why compare the two?
I know... That's the very, and good, reason for not saving her. Still a pity: she was caring, in her own way, for Dauf and for the land.
Arcs don't make up for bad or no ending. 20th Century Boys was good until Friend died, and then everything that happened afterward ruined the series. You don't simply declare 20CB a masterpiece up until Friend dies. The ending happened.
Pound for pound Berserk is better, but there's no comparing an incomplete story or one destined for a shit ending with one that, while far more mediocre, had a consistent vision from start to finish.
>That author never actually moved the story on the continent is a crime itself.
It's not like our characters had a reason to give a damn about the war to start with. Also, I am I right in remembering that it was normal humans vs. dragon descendants? How was it even a war?
Not eating for a month... meanwhile the arm should have regrown. The real question is: how she was able to dress like that, with only one arm to begin with?
They were forgotten like the other 20 plot threads the author was throwing in at this point
I disagree. If something's good, something's good, even if it ends midsentence. But if something's bad, something's bad, even if it ends properly. There are a number of manga that I believed would be substantially improved if their mangaka died before they released their terrible endings.
yes.
>go into a thread about a series you've read
>get spoiled about a series you haven't
ebin
>Why compare the two?
Similar tone, similar premise, similar action. It's not apples and oranges, that's an excuse to try and dodge direct comparison.
Berserk's problem is everyone sucks the dick of a Golden Age and take a blind eye to the lows, like Black Swordsman or the goddamn boat.
In fact the number of people who like the original Berserk anime and dislike the rest of the manga after the genre shift should illustrate why this isn't a fair comparison. It's comparing one arc to an entire series.
spike dies
I didn't mind Raki too much. He didn't just get his power out of nowhere, he trained for years with the strongest male warrior to exist on the island and even then got his shit pushed in by anything stronger than a basic bitch yoma, and his secret technique at the end was literally being just barely competent enough to not die to Priscilla's final blow but not competent enough that she'd pay attention to him after, so he could land one (1) hit on her. He didn't even get a magical powerup or something, he just had a really good mentor, and it was also mentioned that humans killing yoma wasn't unheard of, just rare.
I agree that Raki didn't do anything unreasonable. I actually thought it was neat when he did his little trick.
