She was cold and treated the MC like a disposable thing, based on the fact that his "existence" was eaten and he was no more than a facade, a "torch." He was like an annoyance. But she slowly changes her tune, both on him and his humanity.

Tsundere is great. Except when people use it to cover up some shitty writing, which is way too often.

Currently rewatching ZnT. Most of the cast needs to be strangled. Louise would still be tsundere, but tolerable, if several members of the cast were executed. The characters' upbeat attitudes hide the fact that a lot of them are unbelievably shitty people that should die in a fire.

Monmon was the one who interfered the least. Kirsche (big brown) occasionally got Saito into trouble for fun, but stopped pursuing him very early on. I don't remember Montomorency ever doing a single bad to either Saito or Louise except accidentally drugging her when she was trying to drug her boyfriend.

Ranma 1/2 made me realize just why this archetype is awful, and convinced me that Ranma would have been much better off with any of his other official love interests, or even one of Akane's sisters.

Tsundere is good when combined with frequent bullying or sexual domination. It has some cute points, but you really need regular moments to see them put in their place.

You know I like modern tsunderes better than classic ones.
Classic ones tend to be more abusive and assholish than modern softer ones and they tend to also be shown to be in the right when doing so (whereas modern tsunderes tend to be shown to be immature and childish)

Replace it with any pronoun you'd prefer. It's not something that makes logical sense for anyone to prefer.

Rie Kugumiya's characters are generally the same but that's also half the thrill of it, cause she plays that character so damn well.
As soon as I finished watching ToraDora, I felt compelled to search for the voice actress to get more of her roles, then proceeded to binge watch everything she was an MC in. It was glorious.

I wouldn't go as far as saying all tsundere characters are the same. Rie definitely made her own archetype within in tsundere.
