well the attack is kinda a trauma past for them, if you accidentally run over someone on the street, you probably will find it hard to drive again. It's the same as that but now aside from the irrelevant servants, the lords and knights are the ones want to learn the truth behind their traumas.

But the servants aren't exactly thrilled with rediscovering the past or uphold their roles. It's the royals, knights and priests who take charge and the rest just passively follow them. They don't have magic so they have to stick with their friends for protection against someone who is not afraid to harm innocent bystanders for their goal. I remember Kikuchi was almost killed that one time.
