I'm having trouble thinking of any time I've felt more satisfied at the end of a, for all intents and purposes, tournament arc.
Same here, unless you count actual sports manga. Eyeshield 21 was a blast.
>no asspulls
>no last minute power ups
>no REMEMBER THE TRAINING ARC
>no power of love/friendship saving the day
>underdog stays the underdog until the very end
>didn't go for an anticlimax and played it straight
It was truly perfect.
Do we really need a second dump? Because I'd be totally down for it.
user beat me to it. Devil Bats vs Nagas had this same type of feel. Too bad ES21 never reached that level of hype after that match.
Nino's faces are worth it.
>no power of love/friendship saving the day
But the power of love held back Nino at the end.
My favorite part is how absolutely drained all three of them looked, Chika finally did it, Osamu's plan went off without a hitch and Yuma was able to make sure Ninomiya in all his skill didn't manage to get a revenge kill as he went down. All because of that sneaky hound. Konami may be a shit commentor but her reactions throughout this entire battle pretty much made her the audience insert I can't imagine what the forums in there world is like in that moment it probably started going nuts when the snipe shot happened.
