I see this take actually more interest than Muzan simply possessed Tanjirou. Like the new personality that can emerge could be a mix of both person rather than just Muzan taking the wheel.

This. Everybody treated Tanjirou becoming a demon and the plot following Demon Slayer Nezuko as a joke to prolong the series because that's what it is.

Especially because Muzan said his heart and brain were dead but some of his cells were still alive. it's very possible he's a weird mix of the two, a new person completely.

Also it's a fantastic twist of the saving trope. Like Muzan is literally going "he's not fully dead, there's still time, I can save the boy" but he's completely damning him

I still think it's ending, the demon corps are fucking destroyed and all that's left is for Nezuko to do something and Tanjirou to die or become human again or something.
