Wasn't the new anime fujoshit? Also Blue best girl by a mile.
Was this supposed to be posted yesterday?
What's wrong with the old actresses?
What do you mean? It's a shoujo manga and the MC (girl in the middle) has a few dudes all over her.
Maybe you are referring to the manga Tokyo Mew Mew Ore that was announced months ago, with an all-male cast. That one looks like absolute trash.
>Blue
Minto is my second favorite. Zakuro is first.
I read the news just today.
I suppose the animation studio isn't Pierrot this time round, and they are hiring new seiyuu.
Finally get to see more of best girl Minto
Fucking A I was gonna buy Tokyo Mew Mew a few weeks ago so this is quite the nice announcement
Dunno, I saw a time ago news about Tokio Mew Mew's revival and was fucking fujoshit. Well, more weekly magical girls is always nice.
>all-new anime
So it's a new adaptation of the manga? Or new original content?
has anyone translated Ikumi's statement yet?
>こんな何年も前の作品が再度アニメになると聞いてただただ驚いています
>アニメスタッフの皆さん、大変かと思いますが頑張ってくっださい
I'm simply surprised to hear they will re-animate a work from so many years ago.
All members of the anime staff, I expect it's difficult but please do your best.
It's something like
>"When I heard that our old work was getting an anime for a second time, I was absolutely surprised. Dear staff, I know that it will not be easy, please do your best!"
>Tokyo Mew Mew Ore that was announced months ago, with an all-male cast
why
Fujobucks.
I wonder if it'll be like "Crystal"?
I was wondering if others still remember Tokyo Crystal Mew.
Is it a remake of original series to get rid of anime-original parts and make a faithful adaptation? Character picture suggests it, but they have a sequel manga that's not yet animated.
It just got announced with very limited information.
Expect a reboot but if they focus on idol stuff it won't necessarily be faithful.
Holy shit, this was the first manga I ever read.
I didn't realize it was popular enough to merit an anime remake.
Real shit, I think it was one of mine too back a decade ago. Now I feel old.
God nyes
BORING I want translations for good shoujo/josei
I guess this a good time to ask, but is the original anime good? I remember seeing commercials about this in 4kids, but I was more into Hamtaro at the time so I skipped it.
Holy shit.
It was good enough to entertain me in the afternoon when it aired. I liked that the girls didn't just symbolize dumb normal animals like cat/bird/wolf but were given the DNA of endangered animals.
But this is just the opinion coming from a person who watched it when he was 12. I read the manga too.
It's okay, but it's a huge waste of potential.
I'd say it's a bit underrated on Yas Forums, but still no masterpiece.
You may find enjoyment in it, it's overall pretty fun, and it does some things well, but it's probably a third tier mahou shoujo.
You can give it a chance, and if you don't care about worldbuilding it may be a bit better for you too.
I thought the endangered animals part was a bit dumb when it's just generic animals given the names of the endangered animals.
It could have potential, but she really is just a regular cat, even if they say the DNA is from an endangered type of cat.
They didn't really do anything with it, so it feels a bit pointless.
>Pony Canyon's Swallow agency
They are not even hiding it anymore.
>another year of KisshuxIchigo shippers and them shitting on Aoyama for getting in the way of their ship
Though with how the people of
this generation are, they would despise Kisshu if they watched the original today.
To expand further, what I think would've been the best, there was one episode that was really, really good, or at least showed tons of potential and really highlighted all the potential ideas behind. That episode with the birds.
They should've given the different girls different aspects or parts of life. To represent different parts of how the animals live.
One of them already covers flight, and another water, they should've built on this idea and made it a bit more cleancut for the rest of the girls too. Maybe the wolf girl could represent night, the monkey girl the forest or something, not really that important what, but would've been cool if they did something like that.
The anime at least gave the girls more screen time and space to be developed, if it wasn't for that I would have never picked up the manga later when I found it at my comic shop.
Then you read it and it feels like a second-class magical girl manga where Ichigo appears 90% of the time and the rest of the team is some literal whos that sometimes fight and get a power up.
There's not that many interesting stuff you can do when the source material is pretty scarce.
>It's shit
The manga is even worse at that? Because the poor development of the other girls was one of my major issues with the anime.
I mentioned worldbuilding earlier, and a big part of that is how poorly the lives of the other girls are planned out.
Why and how can they always spend so much time at the cafe? Why do we never see what they do in their real lives?
The girl who does ballet, especially at her level, it requires lots of practice. Why do we never get to see that? Why is Ichigo the only person who's busy when one of them is literally an idol?
I'm not asking for it to be an idol anime or a ballet anime, but it would've been so much more interesting if we actually got to follow multiple plot threads involving each of the girls and their lives. This is not something that would've been impossible to fit in, there's plenty of space in the episodes to make something more compact and interesting.
Well, Blue's finisher is engraved in my soul for whatever reason, so yeah it is still good if you're a fan of weekly magical girl shows.
You mean that they are actually searching for a new magical girl and casting for a magical girl anime is just a front?
I remember watching it a bit when I was younger but hiding because I felt too embarrassed to watch an anime "for girls".
It filled the gap sailor moon left behind. A simple magical girl show with some kemonomimi and sweets theme.
The animation and character design are also pretty good, especially for a 2000's magical girl show.
I don't think it lives up to todays standards especially post-madoka where the only magical girl show that isn't some dark twisted version is precure.
I don't remember much of the anime, but when I started reading the manga I was surprised at how sidelined the other characters were compared to what I saw so far in the animated adaptation.
You complain about the poor development of the other girls in the anime? Get ready to be even more pissed off once you grab the manga. Seriously, it made me hate Ichigo.
Probably I will rewatch the old anime in preparation to the new show.
Honestly you should be more embarassed now for watching an anime for kids
This was the problem of many male kids at the time. Girls watched boys shows and viceversa. Both girls and boys watched whatever aired on TV and learned to appreciate a good story.
My PL rose since then. I watch MG and stuff.
>Blue girl
Her name is Minto. Don't forget it.
You're missing out big time, anime for little girls is genuinely great.
How will the character design change?
Make her taller with bigger boobs and less of a bitch
I watched this on tv and didn't even knew the concept of anime, it was just a cartoon for me back then
Pierrot used to make some really good magical girl shows.
I wish I had any webm's, but tokyo mew mew has some pretty nice animation and character design.
There is something about the shading, the highlights and how the characters move that makes it so nice to watch.
What happened to the old VA? And why do they want a newbie?
And Pierrot produced a crossover OVA with their most successful majokko.
Probably new production committee
There is also Sugar Rune and Yumeiro Patissiere if you count that one as a magical girl.
What happened? why did they stop making them?
It's not like it wasn't succesfull I'm pretty sure Tokyo Mew Mew is one of the more well known magical girls of the early 2000's.
Why did Pierrot stop making magical girls and majokko shows?
Toei's assassins.
Remember her?
There's Fancy Lala (and Corrector Yui if you want to pass her for a magic girl) too.
They stopped because old trend die and new are born. Also with Naruto they got their new cash cow.
Yeah. I hope the new anime will generate interest.
I hope Berry finally appears in the animated form
.Makes sense. Since Naruto "battle shounen" has become their trademark.
I wish magical girls would become in fashion again. Nowadays it's only precure or a dark and twisted version. There aren't any magical girl shows for teenage girls as a target audience.
I don't really mind the darker ones but most seem to try and fail to immitate madoka.
This was one of the first things I jerked off to as a kid.
>Nowadays it's only precure
And I'm happy with that.
If they include Berry I hope Ringo is in too.
It always surprises me how young these characters are. They look pretty mature and talk about romance while they aren't even older than your average precure character.
Most of the characters are like 12 years old and Zakuro, the oldest of the group, is only 15 years old.
Ringo never appeared in the manga except for one bonus chapter were they all are babies.
I'm afraid she will always remain a game-exclusive extra character.
If this sparks more cute elfboy doujins then sure
is this yuri
what's her deal?
TMM got two video games, a run of the mill PS1 RPG and a GBA puzzle game. Ringo is a character made for the GBA game with animal DNA of a penguin and something else I can't remember.
