We look at Chainsawman's art from the first 3 Chapters.
We look at Chainsawman's art from the first 3 Chapters
Art is just as loose as it was first introduced, but Fujimoto seems to pay less attention to his character model nowadays.
I take that back, chapter 2 has alot of that off model drawings he does. And I think, there was 1 chapter in the reze arc when it does have consistent character model like chapter 1 or 3.
Some of the pages in ch 2.
Better pages*
Fujimoto can really draw well when he wants to. Just like the astronaut pageon the recent chapter, his art is at his best when he wants to convey something from his art alone.
Otherwise, he's a story first, art 2nd kind of person.
Anyone knows if he retouches the art for volumes like he did for Fire Punch? I remember being floored by some diferences when comparing them.
He doesnt. It's off model, but it's not disgustingly off model that it looks like chicken scratches.
Least devil designs are consistently good
how do you go from this
Was Fire Punch monthly? art was constantly better.
to this
nah weekly
There was a pretty large drop from the beginning to now. I wonder what precipitated it.
He can draw a scene with the best of them, but he can't really draw a very interesting action segment.
He doesn't have great kinetic flow. He can make a conversation a joy to read certainly one of the best out there, but the same cannot be said for action scenes.
This is funnier.
He clearly budgets his time on certain sections to the detriment of other sections. I imagine its a consequence of publishing a chapter a week -- he has in mind what he thinks is important and worth spending time on and the rest is just set up for that.
Here's your well drawn page for the week bro.
How do people keep comparing Fire Punch art to Chainsaw Man? Fujimoto had Jigokuraku's mangaka as an assistant back then. You can't expect them to be the same consistency.
Weekly, his assistants must've pulled their weight well.
He looked more like a teenager early on. I cant really picture denji as anything but a 24 year old retard. I think his age is only jump bureaucracy
>Fujimoto had Jigokuraku's mangaka as an assistant back then
TRIVIA ALERT TRIVIA ALERT
Is this some sort of shitpost that I'm too interested in trivia to understand?
Maybe, a kind user did it for me months ago.
It's pretty sad that he dropped this kind of composition style after chapter 1. He could do a lot with it if he tried.
The way he is too horny for life is nothing like a 24 year old. A 24 year old who's lived his whole life the way Denji was in ch. 1 would give much less of a fuck about everything around them.
it used to be so good
That zombie at top right drawn with just shadow and light looks awesome
The Reze fight was amazing though. That entire chapter where they're trying to escape and the heavy metal music is blaring in the car while she walks along the top of a semi on a busy highway at night is gorgeous and begging to be animated. And then she explodes Denji so hard that he's sent flying through the corner of a building, propels herself towards him with an even more powerful explosion, appears behind him, and uses another explosion to reverse the trajectory and send him flying into the ground.
The only complaint I really have is that often, the human characters seem somewhat stiff in their posing and movement, but some of it fits with most of them wearing suits.

you can easily tell, because Jigokuraku has great action sequences, while CSM has none.
But Jigokuraku's action sequences look nothing like Fire Punch's sole action sequence. The thing that was most noticeably Jigokurakuesque in FP was the background elements, especially with all that cross-hatching and elaborate shading which CSM for the most part lacks. And it makes sense, assistants are usually used for things like backgrounds and effects rather than foreground characters.
You fucking dumb idiot. Assisstants don't draw goddamn fighting scenes lmao. This manga really attracted some brainlets.
Also OP, you make it way too obvious that you are forcing this meme.
>But Jigokuraku's action sequences look nothing like Fire Punch's sole action sequence.
true, but FP's look way better than CSM's, meaning that the Jigo mangaka helped with story boarding the fights.
The choreography in FP isn't all that elaborate though. It just looks better the drawings are more on point, while CSM gets pretty weird with poses and that "speed effect" on limbs in a way FP didn't. It's not like every CSM fight gets that way though, Denji vs Shad and Aki vs Shad were not like the current arc's fights, they didn't have that problem even if you might still find something lacking here or there.
you dumb coon, Yuji clearly helped Fujimoto with the fights. pic related is Fujimoto on his own.
>coon
You cut me deep user, you cut me real deep just now.
Why do you keep posting that page? Why are you so obsessed with it? It's just a quick kick. He likes to use this fluid and flowy way of depicting speed and movement. Similar to how an animator does.
It's a stylistic choice. You might not like it but that's on you. Plently of people like this style.
lmao, look at their "running" stances.
Fujimoto can't draw a natural movement when his life depends on it.
>but he can't really draw a very interesting action segment
When did this meme start?
There is nothing wrong with it.
It's really just this one guy who spams every thread with the same talking points and pictures.
Wtf is up with this kick. It's not even going to hit the target. Fujimotofags are the worst
Need hiatus badly.
Can somebody give me a link to the discussion of chapter 64?
WE TOLD YOU DARKNESS WAS FULL OF SWORDS!
BUT YOU DIDN'T LISTEN! YOU MOCKED US!
what if kobeni's devil is the secret devil??
GODJIMA
Thats called an axe kick, you are supposed to raise your leg above the enemy's head and then swing downwards. Looks really cool but almost never works.
Wait, is that the resurrected corpse of the guy from the bureau that died during the shadman affair?
His paneling is insane; he is on par with toriyama to convey action scenes via paneling
