You forgot about one of the greatest horror anime ever made, didn't you?
Shiki
Fuck the loli.
The first few episodes of buildup were great
Of course not. It was the only anime with a scene that managed to scare me, that I watched in the last few years.
Pic related.
Decent show, I thought the ending was passable but on the weak side. It was good at the start and picked back up in the later half. I'm not sure we needed 7 episodes of the town being slowly destroyed.
AI SHIIIIIII....
...yes, I actually did.
It's one of the few genuinely scary ones too.
"Oh we can come in. As long as we're invited."
I like how you see some of those from the vampire's perspective and it is just them standing or walking to them real slow while doing a voice.
This show is absolute dog shit.
Horror? Where? Shiki was just a dumb mass of wasted potential as they didn't give the doctor 100% of the screentime he deserved. Also fuck shikis and fuck jinrous.
cringe comment
but yeah, some characters needed more screentime
>acts as an accomplice in genociding multiple villages
>"but muh protected species!"
Monkfag was so annoying. He really should have listened to the chad doctor man. The doctor was 100% in the right in exterminating those parasites.
I loved this one. Anyone know other animes that'll give me the same spooky feels as shiki?
Genuinely scary at first. Then it starts showing some of the vampires as being very human, and of course they're vulnerable as fuck and can be dealt with like any parasite.
why did the blue haired dude had cat ears? why do nips love to kill the inmersion
He was a werewolf. If anything, the villagers were real stupid to not suspect the guy with literal dog ears on his head.
>>"but muh protected species!"
No one in Shiki did anything wrong. The point of the story was that the two species were innocent but couldn't coexist with each other. The monk empathized with shikis because he wasn't content with his life as a human and could very well understand what shikis felt. The scars from failed suicide attempt were a hint for that.
Of course you have the right to hate him but please avoid false conclusions.
but he had human ears. Those were his hair
>Shiki don't need to kill to live
>genocide entire villages anyways
>"But we're living being too! You can't just kill us!"
Shikis were just parasitic sentient blood that had no real sense of morals. They deserved to die and so did the monk for betraying humanity to protect the parasites. The only argument you can make would be that the Jinrous weren't inherently bad which they, as a species, were in fact innocent as they didn't even need blood. But the Jinrous that we saw in the show did in fact deserve death because they too acted as accomplices in the genocide.
The doctor was in the right, the monk was a retard.
imagine you were a mosquito and someone told you to kill yourself because you are harmful for humans
"character design"
Imagine defending mosquitoes and genociding whole villages as sacrifices to your mosquito overlord then sperging out when the exterminator comes in to kill the mosquito.
You'd have to be pretty pathetic to actually do that.
is this good and worth watching?
I'm honestly surprised at how many people seem to praise it. I watched it years ago and thought it was just really slow and poorly paced, with a somewhat shitty payoff to boot.
Yes. Now get out or you'll get the plot spoiled.
Well, he was pretty pathetic, he wanted to kill himself. When the loli vampire met him she showed to him some compassion.
And yet you deny the tens of billions of animals killed each year for consumption.
Fuck off hypocrite.
Oh so you're a retarded vegan? No wonder you defend literal supernatural blood parasites.
The ending would have been perfect if Megumi did not die.
Oh dear god I should have seen this coming. A brain-damaged muuuhhh animals person. Your misguided sense of ethics is far more frightening than any show ever produced.
>IT DOESN'T COUNT
Humans drink and eat blood from animals too and in humongous amounts.
I would gladly join my vamp loli to kill retards like you.
I'm the user you were writing with at first.
I'm not the defending the shikis from human point of view. I'm trying to say that from a point of view of a being not involved in the conflict, let's say a transcendental being, in example God, noone of the species were evil because they were killing in order to survive.
The point of Shiki is to show the inevitability of having to kill other species.
Most humans don't kill other sapient species, while you seem to be bragging about the willingness to do so.
Is this the anime with the communist propaganda screenshot?
Didn't even finish it, was pretty meh
Humans kill each other, try again.
Other humans belong to other species? And humans drink and eat and drink their blood? (which we don't do with animals in most cases unlike posted). Both kosher and modern butchering drains it.
Nailed it. You could argue the shikis were condemned to kill humans. The fucking monk however actively fucked humans while parroting nonsense about how they shouldn't fight back. A traitorous hypocrite fifth columnist scum who should be the first to get killed.
The second biggest cunt prize goes to pic related.
In a situation like that of shikitown, even if shikis could have avoided killing humans and vice versa, once the fighting begins there's no turning back. You don't get to pick sides.
If you are shiki, humans are going to try to kill you and if you are humans shikis will try to kill you. There's just no time to think and it's not worth the risk. Complete annihilation of one side by the other thus becomes the only option.
>most
Try again.
What did Natsuo's dad do again?
He moved the town to get away from the city life and took his wife's name?
>can suck blood without killing
>kill anyways
They chose to kill, and it was not out of necessity.
If you consider niggers humans then you;re the problem.
The blood is never wasted but used elsewhere, humans are kill by other animals as well so why don't you go and genocide them? they hurt your precious humanity.
He lied to the kids saying that he will put those charms back in his room but he removed all of them because muh superstitions muh rationality.
It shows everything that's wrong with "rational" men. People were dying and nobody knew the reason. What damage can charms make? Worst case scenario you just have some sick stickers.
He could have saved his son but he had already decided that shikis were not real and charms don't work.
Good OP, bad show.
I don't remember now but wasn't it implied that once a shiki will start drinking someone's blood they won't move to another victim until the first isn't finished?
If they could just drink a little blood and then wait until it regenerates then this show would be pointless.
>monk and loli got away with it
I'M STILL MAD
>horror
I think you mean one of the greatest love stories ever told.
THEY GOT AWAY WITH IT, DAMMIT
THEY GOT AWAY WITH EVERYTHING
I hope there are no filthy vampire lovers in this thread
Doc did nothing wrong.
They don't have to stick to one victim. They just did that to avoid witnesses or some shit and because it's easier to just use the same person. Though if they let the person recover their blood then they could sustain themselves without having to kill. Basically, Shikis don't need to kill but do so anyways because they are disgusting amoral blood parasites (in a literal sense as the shiki is not the person but rather the blood inside the person's body). Only retards would argue for Shiki's to be allowed to live.
Shiki actually creeped me out. It did Salem’s Lot better than Salem’s Lot.
I think that’s the point. They need to conduct their feeding in secret. They’re vulnerable when they’re exposed.
I never forgot. Sunako a shit.
It's very, very good but I didn't like the ending at all.
It was basically an anime version of Salem's Lot with elements from Let Me In. The beginning was creepy and then it got a bit depressing since it showed the vampires still having their humanity.
It’s like the exact same plot as SL.
No
Wrong. He did one thing wrong.
He let himself get controlled by a dirty Shiki.
Genuinely one of the only anime to scare me.
Not quite. Both had to hear their families get slaughtered because of their actions and her plan for a vampire haven got completely destroyed. They got out of it better than anyone else, sure, but they didn't "win."
But that's the best scene in this garbage dump of an anime.
