I liked FT for about 100-150 chapters. After that my interest started to wane. I hope the same won't happen here since I do enjoy it so far. And iirc later on Lucy got some equip powers with her summons?

The problem with Lucy having powers eventually was that she barely used it and by the final arc she got her ass pushed in to not even fighting ever again. Plus Rebecca is proactive from the get go to fighting and a fun personality.

Lucy power have problem that there always a cap on it. Her summons power don't grow with her own power, all she can do is summon more powerful one but that lead to problem that 1) she can't have too powerful one since she could just whip it own everytime and 2) it make the other summon useless. Like Taurus probably never got use once Lucy got Leo, Aquarius and Capricorn
supposedly the spirits do get stronger with her but Lucy got powercreeped hard by Alvarez.
He probably just needed to make them support characters that augmented her fighting in creative ways. Aquarius was close to that.
Yeah but some of them have really redundant power or power that can be immediately powercreep. Taurus literally got outclass by everyone since his amin power is being a strong guy, Virgo just there for comedy and her dig ability.
EZ is surprisingly way better than most battle shonen out there.

If she's expected to fight at all later in the series then she'll probably be able to use it later as well. The only catch is that she shouldn't really be able to use it at-will. I think next time it activates there might be consequences since she can now actually observe her own powers.
