In Japan? If i remember correctly then it got cancelled due to corona, but they still hold prescreening for staff & cast (on top of my head: TAa, Shimazaki Nobunaga, Wada Arco, F/SN VAs,...). Pretty much all of them said on twitter that they were crying a lot, if anything.

His goal was to kill himself and hope that would erase him from becoming a counter guardian in the first place even through he knew deep down all he would accomplish is killing an alternate timeline version of himself as he is forever bound by his fate as a counter guardian til the planet finally dies. Guess that's the point of the series, there is no path where you can save all who you feel deserve it no matter the route someone has to be fucked over, you're basically holding a gun and deciding which person gets the bullet and which one gets the blank

Archer is a Counter Guardian. He will forever be a Counter Guardian no matter what. There are timelines with Shirous that won't become that, but this one will never be free as his destiny has nothing to do with the grail.
He just happened to also be summonable as a Heroic Spirit because Guardians are heroic spirits as well.

Illya was the Einzberns last shot, they're pretty much out of resources by this point, and the clock tower doesn't really consider the grail as that great of a thing. They're under the impression it's a dumb ritual in a backwater town.

It wasn't a curse, and entering the grail wars was voluntary. She gave up and went to Avalon after the Fate and UBW routes. We'll see if Nasu cares to give her the same closure in HF.

The MA didn't think it's dumb, just that it's simply a small ritual in a nip town for them. They did have some involvements in the Fuyuki HGW though, and also sent their people to participate in the war. But also due to this "just a small ritual" mindset, they're really surprised when Kayneth & Sola died in the 4th HGW.

But they just kept failing, and it's not like other magi lineage in the Clock Tower aren't trying to reach the Root as well. The MA only realized its value when they found out about what happened in HF route, hence Rin had to go through a trial for that.
This is basically similar to Atlas Institute, but instead of "solving the end of the world" the Clock Tower is "trying to arrive to the Root"

This. Shirou 1v1 the king of knights is pure self insert fanservice and would look absolutely ridiculous when 1 movie prior she defeated Herakles with ease.
Shirou beating Gilgamesh makes sense, beating Saber doesn't, and it feels like Nasu thought he absolutely had to make him win an more incredible battle even though it is entirely absurd in heaven's feel setting.
