Just started watching Jojo because of the overwhelming hype

>first 3 episodes
>not what I was expecting, but not bad
>kinda bothered by the fact that the dad doesn't react when Dio, who arrived less than 10s ago, made a Mawashi Geri in the dog's face
>"it's ok son, he was scared, anyone would have done the same"
>then the supernatural comes into play
>Dio is now a vampire
>ok, why not, overall it's quite cool, and it's well done
>the scene gives a nice tension
>I'm enjoying this

episode 4
>Baron makes his entrance
>in only ONE episode, we learn about superhuman power, Jojo's starts and finish his training and go for Dio
>???
>Ever heard about "pacing"?
>Also, because of the way you breath, you can have superpowers?
>how anyone on Earth didn't figured it out already?
>Baron also say that's the only encounter he got with the mask was on the boat, so how does he knows anything about killing people under his influence? It's not like he could try any of his theory beforehand
>oh and we can make sun vibration too? Oh yeah, sure
>animelogic.exe has been installed successfully
>in the tunnel
>"Jojo's, there's a dangerous guy. Go and kill him with wine in your hand"
>wine start shining
>"I understand now! This wine is my northen wind!"
>nigga wat?
>now in front of Dio
>Baron and Dio never met each other, and Dio became a vampire very recently, Dio cannot ahve any knowledge of the vibration technique
>yet he talks about it like it's common knowledge

it's been only 6 episodes and I cannot bring myself to watch anymore of this shit. How did it become so popular in the first place?

your first mistake was skipping parts

Part 1 is shit after the third episode, yes. Part 2, which starts at episode 10, is much better.

did I? I'm on crunchyroll, and I watch the 6 first episodes.
How did I miss parts?

Dumb speedwatcher

What are you talking about? I started at episode 1 and watched until episode 6, in order.

If any of you 2 have an useful information, it's welcome.
I watched the first 6 episodes of season 1 "Phantom blood"
1) "Dio the Invader
2) "A Letter From the Past"
3) "Youth with Dio"
4) "Overdrive"
5) "The Dark Knights"
6) "Tomorrow's Courage"

Now, if I did skip anything, please tell me so I can watch it and enjoy this anime, which for now seems like a overhyped, nonsensical piece of crap. Or is that why you value it so much? Because "it's so bad it becomes good" kind of way?

I'm with you, OP. I tapped out after the mansion fire episode and never looked back. Just not a series for me.

Finish part 1
Part 2 is where I got hooked.

They're probably reacting to your pic being from part 3. Jojo is divided into different parts that have different main characters, settings and have completely different tones.

Season 1 covers part 1 (episode 1-9) and 2 (10-26). Part 1 is generally agreed to be mediocre at best, but is forgiven for being relatively short and like a prequel. Part 2 is where Jojo actually gets good, replacing the moralfag Jonathan with the trickster Joseph and skipping ahead in time to the 1930s.

I felt the same until part 2

I see
I went on google image and put "jojo meme" to get an image to put on the thread. My fault I suppose.
Even tho by what I explained, I think it was pretty obvious that I was talking about the beginning of the anime.

Ok, I will try. Thank you Yas Forums

Jojo starts out fun and bad and eventually becomes fun and good.

First nine episodes ultimately end up being a prologue for parts 2-6

he didn't. he started with phantom blood. and he's right that the pacing is bad .the anime rushed it and it was already rough due to being the first arc. series gets tremendously better starting with battle tendency.

Just wait til you get to the shittiest part, Part 4. You’ll miss Part 1 greatly

I know its gay and stupid but you honestly have to just drag through part 1; even as someone who likes part 1 i has huge flaws that turns most people off.

Hes literally describing part 1 doofus.
Part 1 is kind of a clusterfuck in terms of what it is, it was written a long time ago. It’s more of an action drama whereas part 2 is more action adventure and then part 3 is more like your standard battle shonen.

I want to give Jojo another try (I watched the old OVA version), but I'm not sure about the order. Could someone give me a quick rundown?

I spent the entirety of the early 2000s thinking JoJo was just part 3. The OVA and the videogame was all I had to go by.

2012 > Stardust Crusaders season 1+2 > Diamond is Unbreakable > Golden Wind

Just follow the actual order? Start with season 1, then Stardust Crusaders, Diamond is Unbreakable and Golden Wind. Then continue the manga if you're still hooked, or wait for the new season, I guess. The first 9 episodes of season 1 are the first part, Phantom Blood, and the rest of the season is part 2, Battle Tendency.

Got it, thanks.

Stop forcing yourself to like popular shows.
Just drop it.

the last anime i watched besides jojo was aku no hana, and that was years ago

He's right though. Phantom Blood is only mandatory to watch for the sake of establishing main characters and concepts. Beyond that it's stupid and lame . Jonathan is the worst JoJo by far. Battle Tendency is 10 times better.

>it's been years I'm not part of the community

i never said i wasn't in the jojo community
im only saying i don't really watch/read anything besides it

>I'm so close-minded I only try things I know beforehand I will enjoy
Ever heard about trying new things and getting out of your comfort zone?

but I have to admit your gif made me laugh. You win this round.

>watching the shitty incomplete aku no hana anime and not reading the vastly superior manga
fag got

I did both, since the anime didn't cover the whole story
i liked the music in the anime

Did you even read a single word before you clicked the captcha?

How ironic that people who sperg about partskipping and speadreaders don't actual read and skip over everything instead

the way to enjoy jojo is to take yourself less seriously. it's campy as shit, and you gotta suspend your disbelief from mile-long-razor-thin-fishing-wire. that's the whole appeal. if you want a normal fighting anime where everyone just clenches their buttcheeks until they level up, watch all the normal shonen. jojo is sick because it's like an insane person's interpretation of what a shonen series is like.

cringe

Fuck off back to wherever you came from

Just watch the rest of Phantom Blood, It's only 9 episodes so it's not that long
You will enjoy part 2 more, guarantee.

Phantom Blood is just Fist of the North Star on acid

based

Is nobody going to acknowledge this?

Every part of Jojos is shit except part 2

Part 2 is overrated, Kars is the second worst main villain in the series after Diavolo.

>joseph is a one note gary stu
>kars is worst villain
>shit story with nothing to it
>shitty underdeveloped cast that does nothing
>second worst fights in the series only beating part 1
>hamon being shit and going full retard
It's bad.

watch more

first watch part 1, then proceed to part 2. Be careful, as the next part does not follow traditional sequencing: you should watch part 3 season 1 AND THEN watch part 3 season 2. Now, you've already gone through the most puzzling parts, but be fooled not, do not underestimate what comes next: part FOUR. The final step should be the one you're the most careful, for a single mistake might lead to your doom. This is a very tricky one, but if you can see the pattern early on, you will realize you should then watch part FIVE. Follow these orders exactly and you shall succeed, but disobeying and failing will be your demise.

it was pretty obvious, its just that half of the fanbase is literally retarded and cant read
i had the same feelings you did about part 1, it only gets really good at the very end and when looking back, hope you enjoy the rest of the series!

>>shit story with nothing to it
>>shitty underdeveloped cast that does nothing
>>second worst fights in the series only beating part 1
At some point you stopped talking about part 2 and started talking about part 3.

Are all your opinions shit or accurate? I ask as a reader of the manga who hasn’t watched the anime. Part 1, 2 and 4 have all been pretty based with connecting plotlines and recurring characters where part 3 was the weakest IMO with endless pointless battles (first le tarot now le Egyptian Gods!!) and 0 characterisation.

Part 3 is even worse in the anime. 48 fucking episodes, and the part that actually matters (Jotaro vs Dio) is a QUALITYfest.

What did you expect? What impression were you under of the series? Genuine questions.

I think that DP needs to acquire the license to HnK to bring back the Hamonfags. It's basically JoJo Part 0.

hamon is way better than the retarded stands rofl. I don't like any of Jojos, part 2 is just the most bearable
