Are you kidding? Current One Piece and the Broly movie have a fantastic flare to them. This isn't DB Super or the Toriko anime. One look tells you it isn't.

It's incredibly easy to tell when Toei is trying or when it isn't and this one teaser looks better than all of the old Dai anime which was worse than the manga in every way.

and his growth really holds you in the series

a pity that people who only watched the anime didn't see his Chadness

I knew from the fucking beginning when I saw that cowardice that it was set up for a character arc.
Personality flaws always make a character more interesting even when they develop, Pop never lost his tendency to have emotional outbursts or lose his temper, things like that make you want to see things work out for them even more.
Also I'll point out:
>Hadlar at the very end of his own character arc was so enamoured by Pop's Chad energy that HE was one that changed his alignment in the end, not Dai
In all of shonen no underdog character is better than Pop.

I considered him awesome when he did that thing to deliberately break his wand on Crocodyne's armor, so that he could plinker the little crystal fragments around Dai's adoptive father to form that magic barrier and shield him from the evil influence.
Now that was cool.

tacoland here, before dragon ball we watch dai (or fly) on national tv. a lot of anime was broadcasted on national tv back then, dragon ball, sailor moon and ranma are huge even to this day

Sasuke is just a less functional Kurapika, down to people stealing his clan's magic eyes that can turn red.

Maam is Sakura. Myst-Vearn even functions like Orochimaru in the story. Pop could be Rock Lee if he actually succeeded at things.
