The Ed to a lesser extent as well.
Obligatory

Good ED though.

What a ride.
How are either of them misleading?
>youtube.com
Was about to post it, dem good ol' classic
Also I don't know if this one counts since it's Kira but.. you know
youtube.com
Why do i have the feeling that the opening will be the manga ending?
On the other hand, the change of the ending really made it's point
I've never seen another op that is actually canon.
I think these count

Here's your ED, bro

This show was a goddamn masterpiece.
They already explained the opening in the manga (apparently its a video shoot of the club). Hanako crying was because a bee went into her nostril
>opening is an upbeat, shonen-esque, lighthearted and optimistic song
>show is actually a descent into suffering, death, angst, depression, psychological breakdowns and despair
youtube.com
I'm surprised that noone has already mentioned this
youtube.com
Fuck this OP for making me believe I was going to get a series about tattooed semi-naked cuties on some Pacific island
Fuck you for reminding me that Kira exists. Everything past season 2 was a mistake.
The worst part of the op is that they never look like that in the whole series.
Which has a really unique first half before going full EVA.

This promised a badass anime.
What we got was a forgettable magic high school LN adaptation.
Victory was fucking brutal. Very few anime have as high of a kill count. There were like 120 named characters and about 9 survived.
>youtube.com
why tho'? it's a metaphor
still gives me chills

Still one of my favorite EDs too.
It's great.
I just found out people used to ship Oga with Aoi. I don't get shit like that. Why do people ship so much in simple shounen when the actual manga had no hints?
>Victory was fucking brutal.
Uso holding his mother's severed head while in complete shock was one of the biggest "what the fuck" moment in any Gundam. He's like 13 years old.
You need to watch Ideon.
I expected a lot of action and psychosis from the main character, but anime is more about talking than acting.
youtube.com
but the op is cute
It's kind of like the first OP for Your Lie in April. You think you're getting a fun, lighthearted show about teen musicians. Then within the first few episodes, you get run over by the feels train.

Oldie but goldie
youtube.com
I dont know how nobody already posted the first Darling in the Franxx ED youtube.com
Man I really miss beelzebub, used to play this in loop.
I am still mad how they throwed the show down the toilet
youtube.com
the second one was even more misleading
>op that is actually canon
youtu.be
Misleading in the sense that it is actually very accurate and no one expected that.
Tsuru-kei at its finest.
Edgy shows with misleading cute/innocent OPs and EDs exist
But are there cute/innocent shows with misleading edgy OPs and EDs?
Obligatory

...
I always thought the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei were infintely more interesting than the actual show, which was a somewhat dark comedy instead of a psychological romance-horror.
Contrary to what this ED wants you to believe, this isn't a moe yuri ecchi anime, it's a parody of masculine battle shonen.
This OP was so fucking brilliant, it fits so well with THAT kind of kid.
>a parody
>psychological romance-horror.
Last chapter of the manga definitely fits the bill, though.
Haha what the fuck
I now remember Tower of Druaga
youtube.com
Guess they decided energy > accuracy
>SZS OP and ED's
>misleading
Literally spoils things in plain sight
Needless is parody seinen making fun of battle shonen, yeah.
but the series is not tonally like that
Death Parade OP would have you believe the show isn't about dead people being punished
After a while, it stopped being about that. Much to the extreme detriment of the show.
Is it really a punishment if you live in the afterlife?
Is that why the show flopped?
Yes. It started off okay, but then started being less and less about people playing games to find out where they go and more about the people in purgatory itself (i.e. the dealers). It should have just stayed as a oneshot anime:
I really enjoyed OP1 though. Had a proper amount of edge.
