Why do in every harem everyone not the main girl are always better than the main girl? better design, better personality and development.

Because they're afraid that people start disliking them, unironically what really annoys people about female mc's is that they never got too much development and they still win without doing anything.Yuragi is kinda the same case, Yuuna is not doing anything besides being the main girl, and since the plot moves along with her decisions, everything that puts Yuuna in a bad position is not really good for the author, so he delets some characters or slow down the others development.That's why Yuuna's dream despite being the last one it'll be the worst since everything is building up to her winning or a harem ending(is the best option at this point if author doesnt wanna get killed).

Just feel strange that in every harem manga the author always write the side girls with more personality. Like if you have these better characters why would you pick the worst one as the main girl?
