It’s listed as a shounen. I believe that the author and artist are actually two different people (Aida and Iro). They are usually listed as female, but I’m not sure.

I started reading it in high school but lost interest in college, so I don't think maturity is an issue here. If national stereotyping and the kind of humor that comes along with that doesn't appeal to you, you probably wouldn't like it. The characters are actually pretty cute and charming tho, and the story itself is lighthearted and rarely addresses some of the worst parts of history, thankfully. Hetalia fujos make the absolute NASTIEST fics and art, though
