If you're looking for something with depth and character development, look elsewhere. It's horrible with that. The JoJos never see anything that resembles development, and you dont get side characters fleshed out like at all. Araki shoves backstory in for characters mere moments before their death. It's awful. But I actually really like JoJo. Why? I think it's funny. That's all. JoJo doesn't make any goddamn sense EVER, and it's so stupid it's hilarious. I also think the music reference thing is neat but that's just because I'm an American. Basically, watch it if you want to turn your brain off and laugh. If you are going to analyze every little thing and try to put pieces together, don't. Because there arent any there to begin with. Watch something else. I'll have your back either way, and anyone that has anything to say about it can suck my cock.

Jojo to me is like having Pablo Picasso tell you he’s going to draw a opera house. When he reveals it, you can see the components of it but it won’t look like an opera house in the realistic sense but you will understand it. People who ignore what the intention was and just look at the painting and say to doesn’t look like a opera house and ask questions like, where is the entrance? The box office? The fire exit?

I think every part is decent. You may have to push through part 1 and 4.

There's some weird 1984 shit going on with that where some people are convinced that it was always that part 6 was hated and part 5 was loved when it was the other way around until some point fairly recently.

The adaptation was the best adaptation so far.

This is just rationalization for being ignorant. Part 5 is just bad, the quality of the translation barely matters in that regard. Part 4 also had a bad translation (worse than part 5, but more obviously so) but it was still mostly liked in the past.

Giorno is not what made the adaptation good. The music, the performances by the seiyuu (especially bossu and during the body-swapping), the death scenes were impactful.

I've read all 8 parts of JoJo (up to the latest chapter as of about a year ago) and outside of Part 7, it never is truly "good". The writing is really bad and Araki constantly contradicts himself, much moreso than any other author I've ever seen. If this shit went on in Naruto or Bleach Yas Forums would never let it go, but JoJo gets a free pass.

The rest of the series outside of 7 is basically badguy of the week with some weird power, everyone reacts to the power, some BS way to beat the power is revealed and badguy loses. Rinse and repeat over and over.

Part 7 is good though and you don't really need the other parts to get it, so read that.
