Since when did classes have power ranks instead of the hero's themselves? Has this always been the case? What the fuck is the point of having a tournament if one class is some much more powerful then the rest? I get anime has contrived writing sometimes, but its the most anti-climatic shit to have 1 class so much more powerful jsut because... oh saber is fighting beserka? well saber wins, dont realy have any investment.
I can understand if one class is more powerful at the expense of like, control. Like beserker being more powerful but cannot be controlled as much. Srsly, why even bother competing and risking your life if you have any class other then saber.

totally! i get the idea of rock paper scissors. Thats fine and interesting. But saber(or knight) just being flatly better then every other class ? Pointless. I did like the idea that their power level is decided by the reputation and legend they created. Thats a neet idea they really didnt adhere to despite bringing it up themselves.

To add more context to it, the three Knight classes weer ment for the three families that created the grail war (Matou, Tohsaka and Einzbern), they needed four other fodders to fill the grail with enough juice to work so they added the other classes, but supposedly weaker than the "main" three so they could dispose of them easily.

oh? thats interesting! Though still makes the idea ofa tournament of each class being solo a bit silly, though i expect its about how the fight, assassin is for taking advatntage and mage+ archer for support i guess? the idea of it being two teams of seven is a much better idea for different roles like that. If the knight classes were more powerful in general. beskerak beign most powerful but difficult or impossible to control and the otehr classes for utility and support. That would make more sense. But a free for all? and more importantly just saber being ,not only the most powerful, but so far above that its actually pointless fighting them? dumb.
