This anime is more Yas Forums than /m/. The MC doesn't want to make robot go pew-pew, he just want everyone to listen to his song. So, I'm gonna post this here:
Just finish watching this. The only reason for anyone to watch this today is if they want to watch something different. But I think the TV series drags way too long; if you feel bored with what's happening, watch it in 3x speed to get it over with. The reason why you don't want to drop this is because of the two ova series and one film afterwards, they're all very enjoyable if you know the characters well.
>But I think the TV series drags way too long nobody has ever said this before

>pretended to listen I did listen. But as I said, it drags way too long. I wouldn't mind if they have more songs, but Basara just keep singing the same songs over and over, I just had to increase the play speed.
>nobody has ever said this before Maybe you've seen this on TV when it was airing, but for someone who's watching it on the internet today, it will feel that it drags as you marathon it.

One thing I like a lot about the Macross series as a whole is that Minmay acts as a through line connected all the stories. Its always an impactful heartwarming moment whenever its brought up that a character was inspired by her or motivated by her. This moment in Macross 7 and the end of frontier with the big gray zentraedi guy was great
Macross 7 is trash. Everyone who unironically likes this is trash. Boku no Pico is better than this. A soup made of vommit and feces is better than this.

The moment she accept to sing a song that wrote by Misa the moment she become a real idol. DYRL was beautiful.
Even the creators decided to try and erase her existence by the end to try to play up the Basara+Gamlin homolust, do you think the next macross is going to have a full on same sex love triangle?
According to the Flashback 2012 OVA, after giving a farewell concert, Minmay left Earth along with Hikaru and Misa on the first of the interstellar colony ships, the Megaroad 01.
According to one of the video games, contact with the Megaroad 01 was lost shortly after its departure, but the government kept its disappearance a secret so as not to demoralize the public.
You can hear her singing in the crowd in the last episode and I think she has a voice role in an audio drama or something.

>The MC doesn't want to make robot go pew-pew, he just want everyone to listen to... You just summed up 99% of mecha made after Tomino saved the genre.
This series is the turning point of Macross from good to tripe

I hope the next Macross series isn't centred too much around idols like Frontier and Delta were. It'd be cool if they went back to focusing on a rockstar like they did for 7 or take on a completely new music genre

never gonna happen, the idol concerts make far more money than any of the DBs or merch from the anime itself do.
