I don't know why liking Kotomine should be exclusive with liking Sakura, I am a Sakurafag but Kotomine is my favorite character overall. In fact Kotomine has the most shine in her route, and his best scenes all happen thanks to Sakura (Kirie Eleyson is him BTFOing Zouken and Shirou finds enough strength to keep fighting Kotomine in the kino fist fight thanks to his love for Sakura. Not to say Kotomine's dream nearly comes true thanks to her being the vessel as well.
Not him, but Illya at the very least projects her Iriasviel and Kiritsugu into Sakura and Shirou (its pretty apparent on Mind of Steel if you want an example), and she sacrificed herself to save Shirou because he had a reason to keep on living (Sakura).
