Oda

>N-no those are masterful designs! You can't understand because of your edginess!!!!!

Gotogue. Oda's designs are shit but his actual art is still fine. Gotogue is just straight up awful at everything art related

Definitely not Oda. The fact that some characters are ugly does many things: it immerses me further into the story since not everyone's a beautiful model in real life, it filters newer anime watchers who are more focused on shallow coolness and flashy effects, and also makes me appreciate the cool designs when they do pop up in One Piece.

Fujimoto

why are one piece fans so dumb?

This basically.

They think having no standards and accepting designs that could have been drawn by a toddler is making them smart.

Oda post-timeskip is awful. I have no idea what the fuck is happening most of the time.

yep

There's a big difference between bad designs and QUALITY

God I love those pages.

Shit bait. He is better than Oda.

Tatsuki Fujimoto

That page doesn't demonstrate that.

I honestly do miss pre-timeskip paneling. Oda became too ambitious for his own good.

Based. One Piece covers can never be this good.

When you have thousands of different characters, some designs are bound to be shit. Not that OP is an example of that, except for Weevil. Holy shit what was Oda thinking.

kek, he fucks up dimensions, rough drawings, fucked up lines...etc

His paneling is good though, and story.

Well, the latest covers are just a bunch of momentarily relevant characters with Luffy slapped on somewhere.

The bigger scope and all the side plots/characters make Oda cram 1556556526558 different stuff per chapter, making the art very cluttered

>Oda became too ambitious for his own good.
Nothing ambitious about it, its just plain bad
twitter.com/RainSpectre/status/1242558604923654144

Oda needs to take a year break goddamn, this looks like complete garbage when compared to East Blue Saga.

>Edgy try hard hyper realism with fantastical elements.
>Good art.
Pick one.

>rough drawings, fucked up lines
Those are not necessarily bad, that kind of rough sketchy style is fitting for the setting and tone of the series.

When did One Piece's art became this cluttered? I really started to feel it during Dressrosa (+ the mangapada shit scan quality made the arc almost unreadable)

>The panels need a lot of stuff because there's a lot of story going on! That's why they're crammed!
Then why does the story feel so goddamn slow?
Why did Dressrosa take the same amount of time as the entire East Blue Saga?
Not only has the artstyle degraded massively, the storytelling has suffered too.

> that kind of rough sketchy style is fitting for the setting and tone of the series.
I've been trying to convince myself with that, but I was just trying to excuses for him, we all know that there is a lot of manga out there that is more fucked up than CSM with great art.

Because Oda tries to do too many things at once for some reason, look at the number of characters and stuffs involved in Dressrosa for example. I wish he would keep things simpler.

the story is stupidly wide now
theres like 50 different character perspectives oda feels obligated to cover each arc

It's far less cluttered once we got out of the Oden flashback.

Lol this is literally Kubo tier
> no backgrounds lul
You people like this?

Call me when he's been doing Chainsaw shtick for over a decade.

>Oda became too ambitious
I don't know how cutting the page numbers per chapter by 2 is becoming more ambitious. The whole problem of One Piece's paneling becoming cramped came from that.

Objectively wrong

These ugly designs are at least intentional. They look bad because they are meant to.

Still the best selling manga of all time, stay mad faggots

yes, it gives focus to what matters

Kek, literal Gaia-tier argument

If every design was like that, then yeah I'd agree.

>The panels need a lot of stuff because there's a lot of story going on! That's why they're crammed!
Nah. It's because One Piece chapters are 17 pages now instead of 19 like when Oda was in his prime. Even with these many characters, he could've made the paneling be way less cramped had he stick with 19 pages, but he just refuses to go back.

>It appeals well to the lowest common denominator!

>>Romance Down - Long Ring Long Island
>321 chapters
>>Water 7 - Fishman Island
>332 chapters
>>Punk Hazard - Now
>322 chapters

It's not just the amount of sub-arcs, it's a storytelling problem

What now, faggot?

Attached: wano.png (1045x773, 770.04K)

Is this supposed to be good?
It just looks lame and boring. I thought One Piece was a world of mystical places and imagination. This is just some town.

Post a better manga page then, faggot
show us your superior tastes

Sure.

>paneling is good
what did he mean by this
his panelling is garbage

that's like celebrating McDonalds or Walmart being the best fast food / retail store

Based

Oda is the worst one period

>blaming one for doing something he doesn't like
>both of them have eyes+noses that are so easily distinguishable and memorable.
?

This is where the manga actually lost to the anime when it came to being comfy a few pages down.

>Filler arc character starring in a filler so universally praised he became a main story character.
G-8 was god tier arc, and when I learned that it was a filler it jumped up to legendary tier arc.

Attached: jonathan.png (478x625, 458.49K)

He did it when it was necessary, when is it required for Kubo? ALL THE TIME.

>anime
>comfy
kill yourself toeishill

Objectively Hajime Komoto (Mashle) but it gets a pass as a gag series. Hatomune Tsurun (Mitama) isn't really good either, but again it doesn't really matter and it compensates with cute designs.
Ultimately Asahi Sakano (Guardian of the Witch) is the fucking worst. The "action" scenes are laughable, the perspective shots are always fucked up, the designs are 2000-era shit, literally nothing is good. Even Zipman has better art than this trainwreck.

Fuck off, and fuck off toei pacing.
I don't side with Toei, I just love the music and voices, and it's nice to have something to watch while eating and relaxing.

go back and read enies lobby. the clutter starts as early as there and you can really see it in marineford.
