God damn, this newest chapter reminded me why I like OPM.
I just fucking despise all this action filler. I know that's why the comic exists and it's what a lot of people like, but I don't. I just don't care about how X hero defeats Y monster in the nick of time thanks to their unusual skills. I want to see what makes the heroes tick. I want to see their character.
Btw, am I right in this theory about the heroes and their power levels? -- It seems that strength is INVERSELY correlated with desire to be a hero. It's explicitly mentioned that all the S-classes didn't give much of a shit about being recognised as heroes, but I think none of them even really wanted to be heroes to begin with. Watchdog wants to watch over his little corner. Demon Cyborg wants to get revenge and study under Saitama. Darkshine wants to be strongk and to win, but he doesn't want to be a hero. Garou obviously doesn't want to be a hero. King just wants to fucking live. Most importantly, Saitama just wants to have fun, utterly irrespective of heroism.
Meanwhile, everyone from Mumen Rider to Fubuki wants to be a hero in some way, either out of recognition (Fubuki) or to be a genuine hero (Mumen Rider getting a cat from a tree).
I'm not sure if this actually holds up, though. It's super possible I'm just not thinking about the heroes who don't fit into this.

Saitama didn't really always want to be a hero. He saved the kid because he really had nothing else to do in his life. He then got more and more into heroing because it was fun. And now that he can't find anything fun, he doesn't even do his heroing for fun. He just fucking does it out of enui.
Garou doesn't want to be a hero, he wants to prove his autistic point. Given part of that is specifically about BTFOing those who are considered heroes, that's sufficiently different from wanting to be a hero.

Yes, you can basically call it porn with a plot at this point. Not enough Garou in the webcomic is also a problem as well as Murata going too far in a few places. I propose ONE steps up his game a little bit, starts dealing with some mature topics for a change. No one cares about generic ass shonen shit and fucking with the MA material that was once perfect is not a good idea either.
