Portrayal of Anime Sex Workers

With the popularity of series like Interspecies Reviewers, it occurred to me that the Japanese portray sex workers as wholesome. They care about their customers, can at least act like they enjoy it, and are not filthy drug addicted trash.

I don’t know any real sex workers, but here in the West they are seen as anything but wholesome. And the online sex workers think of their “patrons” or “fans” as paypigs to be ridden to bankruptcy.

So why is Japanese anime like this?

It's a cartoon.

>Sex Workers
>reddit spacing
they're called prostitutes and whores
japan doesn't give a fuck about your sensibilities
go back from whence you came

Sex workers can easily earn more than a university graduate, so they don't need to exert much effort.
Though if you treat your boys well they will come to you more often.

>I don’t know any real sex workers, but here in the West they are seen as anything but wholesome. And the online sex workers think of their “patrons” or “fans” as paypigs to be ridden to bankruptcy.
The "hooker with a heart of gold" has been a meme in Western popular culture for a while now, to a point where it's now a tired cliche not worth regurgitating. Nips just so happen to tap into that recently.

That cliche doesn't glorify the field of work

Stop taking life lessons from anime you weeb fuck

This.

because they have to show a sanitized view of the world free of a lot of actual problems. If they showed hookers living in existential dread and showed thd kinds of violence and drug use that happens it wouldnt be a very upbeat show

The majority of Japanese sex workers I've been with have been very nice and friendly. Who knows what they are like outside of work, but the majority have good customer service just like many of their other service industries.

A wholesome whore manga would be laughed out of the editorial department if it took place in modern Japan, monstercunny reviewers is ok because it's what it is.

This.
OP please stop being an autistic retard

Japan is the country of maid cafes, geisha, and everything in between. General workers are expected to act in a wholesome/respectful manner too.

My experience with prostitutes is somewhat limited (around 10 bangs in my 37 years) but I remember this one time whores were legit nice to me

After law school, I moved to another city, didn't know know anyone and found this random brothel. As soon as I entered the girls treated me like a king. I was kinda shocked, then I looked around, most of the guys were fat disgusting smelly construction workers and drunk mexicans being obnoxious.

Dude, just shut up and milk your cow

What does it say mr. weeb?

>Sex Workers

That's not a thing

Thanks for playing with me today. Do your best on your studies (my Japanese). Some girls do their best to write messages in English,

Wouldn't the majority of those problems be fixed with a legalized, regulated industry? Like, the alcohol world had a lot of horrible issues during prohibition, which all went away after it was legalized again

The oldest job in the world isn't a thing?

Because in Japan, women are actually women.
Unlike the narcissistic, selfish emotionally gutted zombies that are western whores.

ONE ANIME DID IT
>So why is Japanese anime like this?
ONE ANIME DID IT

why are you like this?

Didn't Hitomi Tanaka and Anri Okita said japanese girls in porn are very pure and wholesome? Being a sex worker in Japan is more well seen in Japan than in the west for some reason.

Of course people who work in porn would speak well of it

God the minotaur were adorable

this

they cute

Not really the point, is just that is not just an anime only thing like say, in any case I rather believe those working on the matter over Anonymous over the internet.

>Japanese portray sex workers as wholesome
Not quite wholesome, if you take a broader look. Typically there's an air of tragedy as well, but in general it's less common to see a straightforwardly negative portrayal. They're sympathetic characters.

>riled up the chuds
Chud or Chude (Old East Slavic: чудь, in Finnic languages: tšuudi, čuđit) is a term historically applied in the early East Slavic annals to several Baltic Finns in the area of what is now Estonia, Karelia[1] and Northwestern Russia.[2]

B & R

You should believe retired sex workers above all else since they're not obligated to sugar coat their source of income

Anri Okita is the happiest woman ever and everyone loves her even after retiring, compare that with other western cases, just saying, not really want to start an argument over anything here.

Japan and the US have a complete different view of sex in the first place.
In hyper prude America Sex is seen as something dirty by nature, thus a sex worker must be assumed to be something horrible.
Meanwhile in Japan Sex is seen as what it is, something natural, nice and important. Japan has a complete different cultural approach to prostitution, since Geisha and stuff have century long tradition. Something the US with their ~200 years of mystery meat culture can't understand.
In Europe it's also different and differs from nation to nation. While France is pretty open to sex some other countries are not. Christianity is mostly to blame for the fucked up relationship the west has with sex.

>So why is Japanese anime like this?
Because nobody would like if it depicted reality.

You might as well ask why anime has cute girls and not nasty 3D pigs like real life.

This is so wholesome

You should really get that yellow fever checked out.

Why don't you get roastie gf then if you love them so much? oh right 'IT DOESN'T COUNT'
Stop polluting Yas Forums with your cuckshit.

Nasty pigs to you. High-class brothels and prostitutes tend to be cleaner since health is out at a very high priority; they also require you use condoms.

Why did you click on the thread in the first place?

>why don't you click on cuck, roastie, 3dpd threads in the first place
Fuck off retard.

>Why is fiction not an accurate representation of real life

Gee I don't know user

America was founded by religious weirdos who were too fucking conservative for ye old England, needless to say our relationship with sex is complicated and comes with a lot of baggage. Sexuality is frowned upon, especially female sexuality, that's been our way until very recently. Compare to Japan which doesn't have Christian tradition, but also has a habit of sweeping the less seemly aspects of their culture under the rug. So no faith based sex guilt, combined with a squeaky clean image = equals happier (appearing at least) sex workers.

That’s only for porn pics of this show’s characters. What are you trying to achieve by coming here?

>Not really the point
Yes it is the point. Please explain why you take something you see in ONE (1) anime and make a global generalization about it. Do you also make threads about why japan believes mecha and magical girls are real? No, it doesn't matter that you can link to other anons in this thread who swallowed the bait.
>I rather believe those working on the matter over Anonymous over the internet.
Believe statistics. Compile a list of every anime that come out of japan and look up the amount that is focused on portraying prostitution in a positive light. Do that and then we can discuss what it means.

/thread.
Unlike westerners, cartoons and other media are just entertainment.

Yes it would. Look at locations where it's legal. The girls get tested, have bennefits, and are treated well. Theres no pimps or anything. Once again prohibition hurts everyone.

No it isn't, just putting an anime pic in the OP while continuing with your garbage posts isn't allowed either.

>You should believe retired sex workers above all else since they're not obligated to sugar coat their source of income
Most sex workers do not speak publicly about their experience. The few that are very vocal about it will necessarily have a positive experience. It's another version of survivor bias.

I think this is more of a you problem, given that the series itself is about brothels. I’d tell you to take a walk, but we’re all quarantined. Maybe a good book will clear your head.

Good, then fuck off of Yas Forums cucks

>explain why you take something you see in ONE (1) anime and make a global generalization about it
Huh? I didn't.

>complaining about a thread about a series is off-topic
It’s not like this was discussed in other Ishuzuko Reviewers threads before. Go back to Tumblr.

>With the popularity of series like Interspecies Reviewers, it occurred to me that the Japanese portray sex workers as wholesome.
The popularity of Interspecies Reviewers is not evidence that the japanese portray sex workers as wholesome. It is ONE anime. It's not even the first fictional work to depict prostitution in good light.

>Most sex workers do not speak publicly about their experience.
True.
>The few that are very vocal about it will necessarily have a positive experience
Lie, those who are vocal about it always talk shit about the industry and that it was a big mistake in their lives, only women I have heard talk good about the porn industry are japanese.

Huh, not sure why are you replyng to me but ok.

Only at the start with your roastie sympathizers.
Then you started 'discussing' how great being the guy after the girl gets cummed inside dozens of times is.

Really, why are you wasting your time coming into threads for shows you don't like? Click the X button and go jack off or do something of better use of your time.

You're right, I wrote that incorrectly. I wanted to say that people who had a shameful experience will not share it publicly, which will reduce the amount of negative opinions, but I should not have phrased it in a way that implies the most vocal people necessarily have a positive opinion. Many of them have negative opinions. In case that wasn't clear, I believe non-fictional prostitution is harmful. I wanted to say, and I still believe, that survivor bias will indeed, to a certain degree, prevent people from understanding how awful it is. The concept of survivor bias will apply in the most literal sense for those who became drugged addicted and committed suicide.

Because I'm asking why you made a thread about a generalization of the point of view of the entire country of japan based on one (1) anime.

Japan can't show genitals on their pr0n bro
Meanwhile shit like incest and beastiality is still legal in some states in america
You're full of shit

>No one mentioning that the portrayal stems from the fact that prostitution is legal in Japan and therefore has a normal industry, while its outright illegal in 99% of America thus making all of its industry tied to criminal behaviors

Attached: 1579189387297.jpg (1280x720, 475.73K)

You have arrived to a completely erroneous conclusion based on limited popculture influence. Japan sees America as significantly more sexually liberated. Japan is definitely more prude. Case in point: the gyaru movement was based on america, it originated principally from the 80's action drama series 'Baywatch', which surprised the japanese public with a depiction of young and frivolous attractive people in beach clothes being outgoing and having sex. If you've consumed any number of japanese media surely you will have noticed how much gyaru and sexual liberation come in pair. That's because they're the result of the japanese dipping into american values.

The only subject that you touch upon that is right is that Europe is more comfortable with sexuality than both Japan and the US.

I was talking about women in general. Obviously in countries where prostitution is legal and regulated, your average hooker is probably cleaner than the average woman you'd meet outside.

Sounds like projection, but let’s agree to disagree.
