Why were faggots doomposting about muh SHAFT? This PV looks great.

I'm sold
My local pic related has a bunch of kakushigoto raw volumes, so I know what I'll be spending my money on for the next few months.
Nice some good zetsubou
They didn't even get the old VAs for the SZS cameo girls. Shaft would have 100% done it. It's just a soulless adaptation, even if it's otherwise competent.
Kumeta is better looking than I thought.

he cute
What a pointless nitpick that will have minimal impact on the anime
>soulless
I shouldn't have even bothered responding but oh well.
Shaft is dead. It's now just a zombie that shambles along, putting out Meguca and Monogatari episodes for the rest of eternity.
I does look great. Shaft is fucking dead do people really want current Shaft (responsible for making fucking Magia Record) ruining this series?
He's gotten visibly older from the image that's stuck with me over the years. It kinda gives him that special kind of aura that makes him come off as less "socially awkward suicidal loser mangaka" and more "grumpy but established and respected jiisan author".
Particularly funny to see him chat with Kamiya, too, since Kamiya voiced all those "Kumeta" cameos in the SZS anime. They're not that many years apart either, I wonder what kinda relationship they have. I remember hearing Kamiya's role as Kakushigoto MC was specifically a request from Kumeta.
Magia Record is trash because the source material is trash. Doesn't tell us anything about the production talent still at Shaft.
At this point it's wasted talent. You've got guys like Oonuma and Hatakeyama who have struck out their own and are doing great work, but the others are content to remain under the Shaft umbrella doing nothing.
Who is even left there? They've had talent going out the doors since 2017.
What exactly is this? Don't tell me that the girl's parents are dead and this is all reminiscing.
The girl is actually the one who's dead
This looks great, the animation really feels like Kumeta's style, reminds me of SZS even though it's not Shaft. I miss them bros
If they were going to get Ajia-dou of all people to animate it they could have at least tried to rope in a competent director like Kazuaki Imai, Masaya Fujimori, or hell, even, Sunao Katabuchi (he still works on Maru-chan, right?). I have no idea why, out of everyone they could have selected, they chose the fucking Dre-Fes and Isekai Maou guy.
Whether you like or dislike MagiReco's story you'd be hard pressed the call the production quality bad. That's an important distinction to make.
Shaft still has AbeGen, Okada, Miyamoto, Sunada, Itou, Sugiyama, Shiotsuki, Yamamura, Iwamoto, and Numata and Takeuchi, Nakura, and Saeki are still doing contract work for them. They've still got plenty of fight left.
All in all, I think Shaft are actually in a much better position now than they were a few years ago since with fewer people to carry them to surefire success, they'll have to actually start getting creative again in order to break even.
fuck off
Here's the manga PV shaft did for Kakushigoto a while ago
youtube.com
of course it would've been incredible if we got this, but i don't think what we actually got is going to be disappointing at all.
This and the Madoka concept movie make me wish Shinbo storyboarded more.
Aren't you glad they did Magia Record instead?
How rude!
I don't quite understand the color coding going on here, or what the big orange bar on top is supposed to be.
Also, Oishi at least did Kizu as late as 16-17.
All this doomposting is pretty dumb when we'll soon have Thicc Thighs Bouqet to actually see how Shaft is doing now.
And it would be nice if they actually put out the fucking Off Season already, that shit was supposed to be in production like 4 years ago.
>I don't quite understand the color coding going on here, or what the big orange bar on top is supposed to be.
Orange = series director
Blue = misc involvement
There are a few miscredits (Oonuma not credited for Hidamari S1, Oishi not credited for Maria Holic S1, Fukudo not credited for Bake, Itamura not credited for Madoka, probably some other stuff I didn't notice immediately.
>Also, Oishi at least did Kizu as late as 16-17.
Yes. That's also not listed for whatever reason. He probably doesn't work for the studio anymore, though, given his lack of involvement on any of their post-Kizu projects and the fact that he's been doing freelance design work for a while now.
im interested in it only for the zettai ryouiki skindentation but im hoping to god it isn't going to be style over substance yuribait trite.
>I wonder what kinda relationship they have.
I cant believe Shaft decided to make soulless gatcha ad over this.
They've been assimilated into the Aniplex collective. Resistance is futile.
how japanese do i have to be to get this one?
Ah yes thats what I think of when I think of classic shaft, an action adaptation of a toyline with flat character designs
no he's right, they SHOULD have added the old VA's from SZS, it's just common sense, really.
i hope they won't destroy Kumeta's work with this adaptation.
either way, the manga is already in France since few years so i might buy it if it's good.
The ad Shaft did for the first volume release looked way more interesting.
It's pun central, just like SZS.
Good to see that newfags insist in proving they don't know shit about how anime works.
Kumeta projects are always good
Because Shaft is busy making good stuff now
character designs look generic as fuck
Yeah... Looks great.
yes, indeed !
it's a bit the same as with Dowman Sayman.
>Strike Witches director
Magia Record's problem is the script, not the direction
So is this another Uchi Musume?
oh
this makes me sad
The CG reminds me of Black Rock Shooter.
What could have been.
bump
bump !
in your pants
Next time bump with an answer
all Kumeta's work are unique, so i doubt it's anything like Uchi Musume, it's partly the author's biography because IRL he used to post naked pics of himself in magazines and probably did it in some of his older tankoubon covers, it's basically the story of a father who doesn't want his daughter to know about all this and the fact he used to draw somewhat dirty mangas in his prime.
i'm sure it will be interesting though but it's not going to be like Uchi Musume.
Looks like RWBY.
>Director famous for being the only one left at Gainax when all the creative talent walked out is now making a show for Shaft.
What did they mean by that?
>making a show for Shaft
>now
heh
user, please
still shaft is doing fine, they have like 2 other shows this year
Dude, Magia Record is probably the best animated tv show shafter ever fucking did. For the plot complain to mobage garbage of course
I will trust you user, I'm tired of this daughterwife trend, I just want a wholesome story of father and daughter.
God I want a cute daughter.
it's not a daughterwife manga/anime i can assure you.
You could read the manga instead of insinuating the author of one of Yas Forums's favorite shows is an incestuous pederast.
saged btw
