So, I've just finished Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable, of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. .
I seriously have some problems with this part.
It's 39 episodes long, and yet I feel like nothing really happens until the last 10. People say it picks up around episode 20 when Kira appears, but that's sort of a lie. Nothing MAJOR really happens until Hayato starts getting screentime.
So when I first started watching JoJo what I really loved most about it is that even if there were pacing issues at times, it didn't really feel like there was any filler and most everything that happened had a purpose. DiU feels a bit aimless, when watching the first 10 episodes or so I couldn't help but feel like nothing was happening and this was all filler.
I don't really care about many of the characters. There's a lot of them, but they don't really interact. I liked the chef, but, he never mattered after the episode he appeared in, so that's why I've forgotten his name. I enjoy Josuke and Jotaro. Mikitaka was great, but still, he doesn't really DO anything, which is the problem.
I know i'm sort of rambling but I'm really not sure what to think of this part. The villain wasn't very likable for me, he just bitches and moans like a baby who shit his diaper about being bothered even if he's being bothered by the most miniscule, unimportant thing, when he literally goes around killing people. Fuckin OCD ass.
The things I enjoyed:
Joseph Joestar. Had just the right amount of screentime. I didn't even expect him to be in this part in the beginning. Would've been cool to see more of the baby tho.
Josuke/Jotaro. Josuke is a competent JoJo, and Jotaro being there to sort of mentor him was a nice touch.
The chef and Mikitaka were my favorite side characters. I also liked Rohan, any time he was on screen was a fun time.
Hayato. Great character, and he's the only one who really starts to make the plot move. After 30 episodes.
What I didn't like: Everything else.
