Why are there so few masculine buff men like Guts or Kenshiro? Why are there almost girly skinny uwu owo softbois and moegirls that all look the same?

Buff, masculine anime protagonists were always a minority, even in the 80s, and were mostly a manga thing instead.

Only two of those protagonists on the left are from the early 00s.
