>go to anime comvention everyone is underage
>go to see the my hero movie everyone looks like theyre in middle school
Anyone feel like they are getting too old for this shit
Go to anime comvention everyone is underage
I'm still watching and I'm a few years past college.
26, don't feel too old since my social group (late 20's-late 30's) are still going strong with anime. I have noticed I like less shounen and trash as I get older.
>25 years old
I've almost stopped watching anime altogether and started reading manga instead. But other than that, no. Even the conventions I've went to were full of people my age.
27, a few friends still watch. I stopped two years ago and now I just buy some manga. Same feel.
Confinement has made me watch some series again though.
Well you're definitely not the target audience for MHA anymore.
Damn, you guys are literally 30+ y/o and still on this board. 20y/o fag here
remember when u were underage on those conventions and there was always a creppy old dude?? well, now u are that guy
>anime convention
that's because all the non-underage people are getting smashed in hotels instead of loitering around the convention area
Same, sometimes I'll start watching a new seasonal anime and say I'll finish it but I never do. Manga is so much better
>going to an anime convention
>going to a movie theater to see MHA
>going outside
>MHA
You're almost certainly too old for it
If I ever get older I'm gonna kill myself
Im 26 but look like im 18 so i can still blend in but just feel like such a boomer.
shit, I need to go to a convention
Yeah I'm 25 and I feel too old for this. Shouldn't I have a career-related hobby that's fun and useful by now?
I'm slowing down on anime but still reading manga pretty regularly. Only anime I've seen in 8-10 months have been with younger friends because they wanted to watch them. I don't go to conventions.
>my hero movie
Fucking lel
>going to a convention
>watching shonenshit
Yes, anyone above the age of 13 is to old for that
im 28 going on 29 and i still love it
wen't to the konosuba, tanya the evil, perfect blue, and toyko godfathers in theaters and it was all people college aged to boomers and even a whole group of couples in their 50s at konosuba
>MHA
that's the problem you are too old for that my guy, idk your age but that's like this generations digimon or dragonball z.
>conventions
it's not so much you're too old it's that older weebs for the most part have already had their fill of spending hundreds-thousands on cons. it's not like back in the day when it may be your only chance to get certain manga and figures now you can get everything online same time as it drops in japan. or when it was the only place to meet and network with new weeb friends, now we have social media. unless there's a specific actor/band/special screening of a new movie/show once you've been to one major con you've been to them all
I feel the same. That's why I only ever assist to the really big ones where there's a lot of 30-somethings showing their culture or mad cosplay skills tempered through years of work.
>31 (thirty one) years old
>I might be the oldest person in this thread
shit
This, the KonoSuba movie was amazing,
at least you arent virgin, right?
Your predecessor old creeps thought they looked okay, too.
I'm 32, user. You're not alone.
>just turned 18
>already stopped watching anime and instead read manga
It doesn’t help that the only people I’ve met who watch anime stop by the time they hit around my age and have only seen the popular shit
30 here and I know plenty of ppl who still follow their favorites.
i'm a year older than you, there are some dinosaurs still kickin it on Yas Forums
i am unemployed, single, mentally ill, live with my wealthy boomer parents and am loser in every way.
was sad that i couldn't go see MiA in theaters. when i watched promare, there was just some dad and his kid in the theater, and of course they bought the seats right next to me. the dad was reading the subtitles to the kid out loud. obviously i'm too much of a socially anxious retard to just move back a row or two and just pretended like i didn't notice.
35 here. I remember the good times of Yas Forums.
I teach middle school. Anime is a normalfag thing for kids, especially BnHA.
Anime was only good in the late 80s/early 90s and then it died and young people will never ever know joy. Suck on that zoomers.
too old to watch my hero? yea
Kek. I find it funny that there are teachers now that are closet weebs. Its unimaginable during the time i was in school. Showing your power level was an instant way of to get roasted into oblivion.
I'm not but I haven't gotten laid in multiple years
The worst thing about getting old is that your social circles breaks up as time goes on and it gets harder and harder to build new social circles
>Anime was only good in the late 80s/early 90s
I think there were still some groundbreaking shows during the 00's but I agree it was 80s/90s where anime reached it's peak at being outlandish and experimental there were still lots of clones of successful shows but there was a pretty big variety in art styles, themes and narrative. 60s and 70s shows also have their charm but most still felt clumsily animated and had their plots limited by social conventions of their time (similar to what political correctness is doing to current day shows).
A friend of mine is an elementary school teacher and open anime/videogame geek. His students once gave him a Mario case for his 3DS.
>Its unimaginable
University professor here. I thought the same until I began to share investigation group with some older professors. All of them read and collect comics of some kind.
When do the narwhals bacon?
Bad. Students are not your friends.
29, mostly reading manga and LN. I still like anime but can't bear how slow most of them feel, the average shounen episode could be 8 minutes and cover the same stuff
For a while anime was getting huge budget dubs and theatrical releases. They fucked that up in some of the floppiest shit ever. It's way more normie now due to cartoon TV stuff but it wasn't that unheard of 20-30 years ago.
>University professor here
Highly doubt it, but if true do any of them read edgy stuff like Goblin Slayer?
Only western comic.
I don't know a lot but apparently his students think it's cool he knows about vgames and anime.
>go to see the my hero movie everyone looks like theyre in middle school
That's why you go to the fancier theaters in the gentrified parts of downtown.
Some western comics are arguably even more edgy desu
I'm 31 too, user.
Lately I've been feeling like I'm getting too old for internet discussion altogether.
It's good to look kind and helpful, but you never can lose the authority.
Fuck the people from gentrified parts
He seems to have things under control as far as I know. I don't know his personality as a teacher but he can be pretty stubborn and pushy so I guess he has no problems being strict when the situation calls for it.
So how did you end up on Yas Forums?
It'll happen to you in due time, user. You're here forever.
Not him but I found this place entirely by coincidence (I was looking for Haruhi pics back in 2007). So not everyone had a reason to come here initially.
>go to comiket
>everyone is 30-50 year old men, many balding
You're not doing this whole anime thing right user.
So why’d you stay? Did you come embrace the degeneracy or were you always degenerate?
30 here, still watch like 100+ series per year and probably won't stop until I die
>my hero movie
Thats your problem
At first I stayed here for cool easy pics/fanart since /c/ wasn't a thing and there wasn't many taboos about spamming images back then. Eventually I liked how much freedom of speech were here compared to anime forums (by 2010 I had a crisis over a shitty manga chapter and needed a place where I could swear without getting banned). I found most degeneracy repulsive back then but I found a morbid attraction to discussing repulsive stuff and before I knew I became a regular.
This, never been to a convention tho
Yas Forums is an interesting window into weird minds
It really is normal now, I let my little cousin borrow manga and she said she read it in school with her friends
Simple Solution:Watch better Anime
>recommend
Kemonozume
Dragon Dentist
Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust
X/1999 movie
Gunbuster
>watching My zoomer academia
Watch the fuck else would you expect?
34 here, being watching/reading since 1999, but I've stopped going to conventions mostly because of the scene drying up over here and no-one is interested in going with me, I support cinema releases when I can and they're available, surprising amount of everyday people seeing anime films.
I'm caught up/have finished so much stuff that I have to wait for more stuff to come out.
I basically watch old crime movies all day now.
Friends who fell out of watching anime and said it was shit are all watching shounen power fantasy and deconstruction stuff now ,seeing it as something they've never heard of and wondering why I'm not into that stuff.
i get more disgusted by Yas Forums than the worst shit that gets posted here
34, didn't get really into anime until I was 25. Before that, I'd watch dubbed anime on the usual cable channels, but no more than other stuff.
I'm still into it. I mean, fuck, American shows are so goddamned uninventive. How else can I watch a show about heroes in a fantasy world review brothels or quintuplets be really shitty people? If a US channel makes a show like Id: Invaded, they try to stretch the plot over 5 seasons and get cancelled halfway through the first.
>go to anime comvention
Also known as Coronafest. What convention around the world is still happening?
>29
Not really no.
>western conventions
>boku no pico acashit
Normalfag thread. Go to any convention or doujin event in Japan and you wouldn't be saying this. I'm 30 and I felt really young.
>Bunch of old manchildren who are likely neets cope with each other by espousing their age as if watching children's chinese cartoons past the age of 14 isn't shameful
27 here and I still watch, but a lot of stuff I was into when I was younger just doesn't appeal to me anymore
Also once you get over the 300+ series watched marker it starts getting a lot harder to find shows you really get into
46 here, virgin, kiss-less, handholding-less, eyesight-less, watching 14 hours of anime a day every day for the last 30 years and I go outside once a year, still no wizardry.
>22
Not even old but I've long since lost interest in outgoing activities related to anime like conventions and big movie outings. I'm so jaded to narratives that I can only talk about them with other people equally as jaded, and such people tend not to be the type to go out and have a wacky fun anime party or join a club. I still have plenty of fun speaking with a close friend group and discussing VNs on /jp/ and /h/ though since those boards are mostly devoid of the shitposting that hampers discussion here
Yes you will tranny yes you will.
Ok, zoomer.
