Post a better anime heroine. ProTip: You can't
Asuka
Kiki
She bothers me because she's too heroic all the time and it feels weird. Even when making sacrifices or being at low points it seems too overblown.
Really? I didn't think that. I mean compared to modern anime heroines she's pretty balanced. She's tough yet sensible, madly skilled with a sword but still very much a young woman who is easily restrained by males. Her methods to socialize with nature are a result of both talent and long time research. She feels pretty complete as a character compared to all the asspulls abs bullshit powers/abilities most MCs have.
I have a genuine sense of dread when she does something risky. It's been long since any anime character made me feel that.
miyazaki heroines are too unrealistic. I prefer a tragic hero like her or utena
>miyazaki heroines are too unrealistic
I think I get where you come from but in which sense do you find them unrealistic? Is it because most of them are basically celibates?
just they way they're usually extremely innocent or good-natured at every turn despite their responsibilities and talents. humans don't work like that
True but I can forgive that because I sometimes prefer inspiring characters over realistic ones. Representation can ruin a character if abused too much.

I don't hate women, but I like Miyazaki male characters quite a lot actually. The boyish appeal feels more real. Even in real life, little girls are quite boyish and abrasive so it feel more real to me. If Miyazaki had made a boy-ish girl character she would be my absolute favorite (Nausicaa and San don't count because they remind me of stubborn women. Women who are cool but not arrogant is a +1000 bonus).
This I agree with. Miyazaki is good depicting kids that feel like actual kids instead of a walking collections of moe cliches. They usually take me back to my own childhood.
Manga reader here. I kind of agree. It is somewhat forgivable since she is portrayed as a sort of messianic figure. I still would prefer to see her have more flaws.
Haven't read the manga but I've heard her more Messianic/Noble traits were discussed and challenged there (the movies doesn't clarify but she's a psychic in the manga and another psychic mocks her immaturity because her psychic self is still a child).
>miyazaki heroines are too unrealistic
No it's just nausicaa is a mary sue. It's almost hard to believe he wrote her considering how much more realistic kiki and chihiro are
>nausicaa is a mary sue
I guess she counts as the rare (for today) example of a well executed Mary Sue.
Would user waifu Nausicaa in the apocalypse? I think she'd be an okay wife sometimes.
he was going for more of a gary stu but the movie was made about content 1/6 into the manga, when things weren't very fleshed out
Once she outgrows her tomboyish phase she would probably be prime wife material. As she is in the film she's more of an adventurer. I don't think she's too concerned with romantic stuff.

And that's why Lina will always be number one.
San is better is pretty much all respects. Nausicaa was a great start for Miyazaki but Mononoke Hime is simply the greatest Man vs Nature story ever told.
I guess to each his own. Mononoke-hime was slow for me at times. It is a great movie but I think Nausicca had better pacing.
Post more girls that are giving you approval
agent aika is cool
This is now a girl thumbs up thread!
Okay
>Lina will always be number one
Number one runner-up
OHOHOHO
I haven't seen a single anime heroin, I think making art that deals with drugs is a no no for Japan, culturally if not legally
You should watch Boogiepop Phantom.
pacifist crybaby. if it was up to her she'd let all her people get slaughtered because OH HO HO HO THE MORALS OF THE ENEMY. THEY'LL TURN THE OTHER CHEEK. Anime Martin Luther King
I loved the way 5 armed knights died to her moral pacifism during the first half of the movie.
This thread boosts my confidence.
Is manga Kushana as badass as the movie version?
