Kubo's official twitter has been changed to "Kubo & staff". He mentioned about publishing the manga and working on the anime at the same time in his message. He has also been involved in choosing the Seiyuus for the sternritters. Seems like Kubo will be heavily involved in the production.

As a hardcore Bleachfag, this is the biggest disappointment of the entire manga.
Fuck people crying about m-muh bankai reveals, simpleminded shouneniggers through and through.
Not seeing these two interacting meaningfully with the rest of the cast - both former allies and enemies alike - is the biggest fail in Kubo's work.
I have no hope this will get fixed in the adaptation.
CFYOW dealt very well with the post-war situation that lots of reader were interested in, but these two remained utterly absent.
For shame.

Viz will probably try to release all the BDs upto the Fullbring arc before the anime starts. Going by their 2 months break releases since December with every box set containing 25-27 episodes they will probably reach the end of the arrancar saga if the anime starts in Summer 2021 which is very much likely as that's the 20th anniversary(Bleach started publishing in August).

It felt as if there was some mandate that prevented them interacting with anyone but their sons. This won't be fixed in the anime as I feel it's too big of an alteration to the plot and not an expansion such as an off screen fight

Seconded, I agree 1000%. The entire build up around them goes totally unresolved and they are quickly forgotten. What an EXTREME disappointment that was. Think of all the interactions they could have had? Would have made for a much richer storyline. This truly is the biggest blunder Kubo made. All the ass pulls does not come near to this.
