Haven't watched it all, but it's pretty good. It definitely makes sense that people are calling it reddit though. It's very 'easy to like' for normalfag anime fans: accessible and not overly lewd comedy; art and animation that's a little arty and offbeat compared to generic seasonal trash but still basically stylish and suitable for mass appeal; references to uncontroversial 'classic' anime like Future Boy Conan, Ghibli, Akira, etc.; and lots of anime industry inside baseball talk with characters who are very passionate about the form. It's like those 'le wrong generation' bands that reddit was known for loving—Led Zeppelin, Queen, etc.—in that it's just above the curve enough to be a critical favourite without losing any appeal to the mass market.

Probably not I'd guess. The BD seem to have been pretty good, and the staff said they'd consider it, but this is Yuasa after all. He's not big second seasons for anything, even his successful stuff. And I'm not sure the manga is far ahead enough to even have enough content for a second season.

Pretty bad, taking in consideration this was supposed to be for the least memorable a huge disappointment, I would give it a 6/10 overall only because of the above average quality but I feel like I would be too nice here, to be more precise I would go:
Episodes 1 and 8 a 7/10
Episodes 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 11 a 6/10
Episodes 4, 9 and 12 a 5/10
Episode 10 a 2/10
I totally understand why would someone like it but this requires a very special kind of people and I can already see a bunch of people just jumping on the bandwagon to be "an anime expert".

It was a reference to Kasuga Sankyuu & Teruyo, a manzai duo who were famous for their subway manzai in late 1970's.
