I should've watched this show sooner. Is season 2 as good as the first one?
Should I read the Light Novels as well or just read the Manga?

Season 2 is better because of best girl Iroha.
>watching boregairu
just fap to the porn
her pupils get bigger after she blinks. I never noticed.
Season 2 is different in tone but still pretty good. I was pretty pissed about its inconclusive ending at the time it came out but since we're getting another season, that doesnt really matter.
Just a heads up, a few anons call it haremshit, but seriously, its not, the only girl interested in 8man at the beginning is Yui, and 8man is interested in Yukino.
no, just no
Light novels. The anime sometimes doesn't make sense because it cuts out alot of dialogue. After all what do you expect from something that's just to advertise the LN?
season 2 has good scenes, it's kind of vague so feel free to ask questions but I'd say it's worth watching
Not OP, but you help explain this?
I don't get why she was so mad
I mean he did solve Tobe and Ebina's problem all at once, he even kept things the same between them for Hayato, and I'm sure Ebina knew what he was playing at when he did that.
I was thinking of buying them. Are the english translations any good?
this sucks
Because he made himself look like a loser to solve the problem. That particular incident wasn't terrible but it was indicative that he would continue to sacrifice his reputation and feelings to help others, and they don't want to see him hurt himself. they are all faggots.
I thought the Yen Press translations were pretty nice. They also have an index of pop culture references included at the end.
she wanted 8inches and was jealous of the fake confession
What said, plus I would add that Yukino was disappointed that Hachiman was comfortable with superficial distance.
She was also jealous. We now know that she’s not really as rational as we were made to believe, especially when it’s about 8man.
That's right. Hachiman projected a lot of his ideals onto Yukino, which is something he would come to regret by Volume 9.
She had no problem before, summer camp, cultural festival, etc, etc.
Summer Camp wasn't necessarily a social suicide. Yukino didn't see what exactly he did during the cultural festival.
Also Yukino started crushing on him, admiring him, looking up to him during volume 7. Her feelings changed and thus her reaction isn't obviously going to be the same.
Ah that’s good. So they’re worth buying?
In some of the @comic skits, they have Hachiman and Zaimokuza with a chuuni "battle" with Hachiman dressed up like Lelouch and Zaimokuza summoning Unlimited Blade Works.
Sounds neat.
I think so. Of course, you can probably find the older fan translations for each novel online it you look hard enough.
Ebin
Never going to be a thing even if Yukino is removed from the story.
8man is a lucky guy
2 main reasons:
First, 8man hurt himself on behalf of some fakeass group. 8man is an unreliable narrator, so even though he says he's not hurt because he's a loner, it's pretty damn clear that both yui and his waifu love him and hate seeing him hurt.
Secondly, 8man was being a massive hypocrite. He's always talking about how fake relationships don't mean shit, but here he was going out of his way to maintain a fake relationship and the status quo.
Season 2 has a much more serious tone than season one. Many people prefer season 1 art style to that of season 2, but I personally disagree. The biggest downside for the anime is that it misses many things - there are a ton of stuff that don't become clear until someone explains it to you or you just read the @comics manga or read the light novels.
Season 3 incoming, though, so I'm pretty hyped.
He also confessed to another girl. Even if it was a ruse it’s still unacceptable to Yukino
Yukino isn't the type to lash out on Hachiman just because he confesses/likes someone else. Instead she just gets sad and quietly accepts it. Just like Hachiman wouldn't lash out on Yukino if she liked Hayama.
Any release date for season 3?
Instead he'd be nauseated, horrified and miserable.
========
Yukinoshita’s answer sounded vague. Yuigahama and I looked at Yukinoshita to continue and with a preface, “It might be a contradiction, but” she said, “If he plans to continue our family relations in the near future, then I believe it would be much more efficient if he succeeded the law firm.”
“Wouldn’t that mean he’ll be going with the liberal arts, then?” I said.
Yukinoshita shook her head. “There are other ways to continue that relation, so…”
....
“I doubt we can ask Hayama’s parents. There’s not much we can do if we’re heading into family territory.”
“I suppose so… “ Yukinoshita’s expression turned gloomy. “But at the very least, my mother wishes for a lasting relationship.”
I reflexively averted my gaze.
“Got it. For now… I’ll think it over for a little bit,” I said, and stopped the conversation.
Truthfully, I really wanted time to organize my thoughts. At this point, our remaining option was to make conjectures from the scarce pieces we had. Let’s just think about Hayama’s career path for now. After all, If I didn’t do that, I had a feeling I was going to imagine something horribly nauseating.
Post his volume 4 response.
it's unironically worse and the series is basically a melodrama
God, just imagine that while Hachiman was worried about keeping distance Yukino repaired her childhood friendship and closer to Hayama, the man he hates and rival in love for the Yukino bowl. Would he have gone crazy?
I think seeing a worst case scenario with Yukino part of the Hayama clique would've just reafirmed his previous notions on love only being a limited right for the winners.
I only remember Hachiman wondering who Hayama's 'Y' was and asking Yukino what was between Hayama and her when they talked at night.
I don't think Yukino would ever become close to Hayama again like when they were children, I believe he chose not to rock the boat with his friends by totally siding with Yukino, so instead she felt betrayed and was left alone and ostracized. Yukino wasn't treasured by Hayama, unlike another guy who did.
Hachiman worries when she talks to Yukino that night over trampling on her personal life, or rather he's afraid of what kind of past relationship Yukino and Hayama had because of both being rich families and child hood friends.
The LN basically gave the impression Hachiman was jealous, where as the manga and anime didn't even show that.
I meant if Hachiman's paranoia became a reality, Hayama doing something that's out of character for him and want something genuine. Forsaking his clique for Yukino.
Now that's a good what-if story.
I did wonder about a situation while reading volume 13, where Hayama tries to get Hachiman to admit his feeling for Yukino and monologues about his regret in not doing all he could in the past. I wondered if Hayama would have burned his clique down by confessing and making a proposal more or less to Yukino in such a way it would be public, to give up all his social life at Sobu only for pushing Hachiman. Of course Yukino would reject him but for extra drama Hayama might let her parents know too.
Watari had other ideas.
Season 2 doesn't have much comedy but it's really good.
such an forgettable show, i only remember that i watched it.
Yes, but the official translator for the series has said that he is very happy with the fan translation as well. The fan translation also has really nicely done annotations that the translator had some fun with to explain culture references and why certain things got translated the way they did. Read/skim the first chapter of each and pick based off that, it's personal preference.
> Is season 2 as good as the first one?
it's better and it has a better animation tbqh
If Hayama did all he could in the past, there is a good chance they would date.
Also it would be interesting to see how Hachiman would react to it, we do know how Yukino would react when giving up on her feelings based on another and volume 12/13/14.
Season 1 is infinitely better. S2 is filled with vague, pretentious conversations between characters that you wonder why the fuck you even started this show. Nevertheless I enjoyed it, but S1 is definitely more enjoyable.
Wasn't it implied that Hayama's crush on Yukino was one-sided? Yukino never viewed him in that manner.
Well you can see how these things build up. Perhaps she felt closer enough at that point to call him out.
What I didn't like about this show was that "honmono" scene felt incredibly autistic. It didn't help that they didn't actually do anything about it. They never addressed it again. These 3 are hyperautists and that kind of left a sour taste in my mouth. Otherwise, I liked the show and the characters.
Seriously though, they could have cut out some of the student council shit with Iroha during the 2nd season because it felt a bit too lingering.
because they were just kids, Hayama betrayed her before possibility of feelings could develop. If Hayama put in effort to not give up on her and reach out to her, there is always a chance. For a loser like Hachiman managed to impress someone like Yukinoshita's mother, just because Hachiman did everything he could to win her family over.
S1 had a better Hachiman, but S2 had Iroha. The art style is a toss up, I liked them both. S1 Komachi > S2 Komachi
That’s good to hear. And I’ll follow your advice.
Season 1 had much better arcs. Season 2 had deredere Yukino though.
Don't.
It goes downhill really fast like most popular romcoms
>Season 2 had deredere Yukino though.
Is deredere Yukino good?
Hachiman had the advantage of being really compatible with Yukino though. They have almost the same likes and dislikes. They were pretty much bantering already when they met. I doubt Hayama can ever compete with Hachiman there.
Deredere Yukino is good but some people also said that she is drama queen, but that only because they don't understand her chararter and the story
Yes
That dork can’t be Yukino.
Yukino was always a dork.
I thought they continued to delude themselves.
