Why didn't more people like this?
Why didn't more people like this?
Expectations we're not met. People were expecting a masterpiece. Altair was so cool so it's all good.
They're tasteless fags
This and this Overall was still pretty good.
Because it was really bad and the protagonist was one of the worst and most useless pieces of shit I've ever seen. The entire plot meanders around for 24 episodes because the main character literally just forgot one of the most pivotal moments in his entire life until the plot finally says he just remembers and a group of varied industry professionals and nerds can't recognize what is equivalently Hatsune Miku or Reimu and spend ages to figure that out.
The idea of 'Hey anime characters get reverse Isekai'd' sounds neat until the very first thing they establish is that these characters are NOT supposed to use their unique abilities, ever, so every fight is the 'bad guys' throwing around shit largely unopposed because the 'good guys' are supposed to neither be fighting nor using their stuff when they do. I can't think of a dumber way to completely hamstring the premise right from the start.
Oh, and the 'solution' to the conflict is just that Altair decides to fuck off of her own volition and no plan, no ability, no coming together of any of the characters had any impact on that decision, the MC just remembers shit he should've never forgotten and tells Altair her creator would be sad so she fucks off.
Meanwhile in Altair's /u/niverse...
It was a great premise executed awfully. Terrible main character, contrived plot, unearned "epic" moments, 15 minutes of expository monologue per episode. It was an unfortunately trash show.
Started off well enough and became boring too quickly. I don't want an entire episode where the girls eat things when it's supposed to be action.
>Terrible main character
I loved the show overall but the whole time I was thinking the protag should've been Rodney Dangerfield.
Male MC was WORTHLESS. Altair was cool but COMPLETELY broken.
Every time someone makes a thread about this show it gets me pissed off at it all over again. Fucking Hiroe the hack. What a waste of an awesome concept, characters, music, and animation.
Sure, there are tons, but they usually don't come here. Unfortunately Yas Forums, contrary to popular belief, has no tasteful users or even adults. Most are hormonal teens who are interested only in harem, romantic comedy, or shounen.
>Fucking Hiroe the hack. What a waste of an awesome concept, characters, music, and animation.
lel lmao, it's funny because it's possibly true.
>Why didn't more people like this?
It did user.
Interesting premise but it was soooo fucking boring. They wanted to overshill Inori Minase too and made her the most boring character with retarded exposition drops, second worst only to MC. My interest in the show died with the magical girl character who was the only one with any semblance of arc, and her death was the only memorable scene. After that the show went from boring to absolutely fucking unwatchable.
looks like any awful anime i've seen
Because instead of being a deconstruction of Fate's legacy and a category study of the relation and ingluence fans have on a property, it just urned into Fate.
It's probably the most 5/10 anime I have seen. It's so not bad and so not good at the same time
The music was cool.
>Muh Mary Sue villain wins everything
>It was an unfortunately trash show.
What more did people expect from the studio that brought us Aldnoah/Zero?
It took an absolutely awesome premise and made it really boring.
>UHHHHH NOT ENOUGH SHONENSHIT??
You can have a show without action and waifufaggotry and not be boring. Satisfying character arcs and something resembling narrative flow between episodes would have also really helped a lot. As it stands, characters enacting major plot points rarely if ever have buildup, foreshadowing, or anything else to prevent the audience from asking why the hell they didn't do [blank] right from the start.
Also, entire episodes dedicated to exposition. Why the fuck would anyone do that?
Lots and lots of pic related...
Dropped it, mc was too fucking bad
absolutely shit MC
I literaly stopped watching this shit after they killed the magic girl
Because the didn't realize that a show called "Re:Creators" would be using its cast to explore the process, philosophy and ideas behind the creative process in the context of an anime-mashup.
Basically, the exact same reason people got bored with Katanagatari, but significantly moreso.
They redeemed themselves with YagaKimi though. Guess they just have to adapt good stuff instead of trying to make their original trainwrecks, much as it hurts to say
Shit execution.
Because it was garbage. The last third of the show was masturbatory metashit where it just kept lampshading how awkward and nonsensical the final battle and plan was and expected you to like it just because it was self-aware. A bunch of the characters ended their "arcs" on wet farts, like that dating sim bitch and the rival to the sunglasses guy. Altair was also handled fucking abysmally, like, I get that the whole point was that she was supposed to be unfairly powerful, but some of the shit they came up with was pathetically devoid of thought
Holy shit. she literally made the plot disappear.
>Shit MC
>Shit Storyboard
>Wasted potential on multiple occasions.
To be fair, Everything else was good: Animation, Character Design. Music. All it really had to do was get an MC with a backbone instead of Shinji 2, Make Meteora talk less, and replace Meteora talk time with more character build up and development instead of expecting the audience to fill in the blank with the anime character they're trying to rip off.
should have been a visual novel
I was there only for sharkfu
Isn't there an official Manga of the show? and I'm not talking about the one where the MC is a Sho Otaku / Stalker.
Would it have been better if they got the rights to actual existing characters? Who would you pick for each character archetype?
Guts would be interesting as a standin for the lady paladin since her whole deal was being angry that she was created just to suffer
If they actually went for that 4th wall meta story to explain all of the plotholes and storyboard mistakes in the show this would have been easy AOTD material.
That's actually the irony; RE:Creators needs that expy background to hold up any of the characters in any reasonable timeframe.
How much more bogged down do you think the plot would have got? They already cheated on the late-joiners simply because they don't have any fucking time to go beyond "He's the good guy for the other guy's game and she's a route in an H-game."
The biggest mistake of RE:Creators isn't the exposition: It's necessary: the plot is simply unwieldy. The problem was everyone handed it off to the literal exposition character... which stopped being funny relatively quickly.
The fix would have been to give everyone the same level of care as Mamika and Alice: We need to get under their skin and know what their role was.
Make Re: Creators spin-offs.
Stupid characters.
That lady knight has to be one of the stupidest bitches I've ever seen in anime.
It insulted the viewer's intelligence by regurgitating stuff to the point that at least I was expecting a really complicated twist - and then they ended it in almost the most pedestrian and predictable way possible.
I dropped it when Mamika die
I liked it, but the main issue is that it lacked Altair. It should have been a two parter, the first with Altair as the mysterious villain until they figured her out, and then switch perspective entire to her (with a flashback scene of her getting to the real world).
Plot isn't the problem. It's basically...
>Anime characters appear in the real world
>One Character wants to destroy the real world. Creates a Team
>Other characters want to save the real world. Creates a Team
>Fights happen.
Just about every Shonen Anime has a similar structure. The Problem is the storyboard they used. It wasted time instead of making an interesting storyline.
Exposition would have been fine but it didn't need to take entire episodes to basically explain "Altair want's to use her power to destroy the real world's and that's bad!"
Speaking of Altair, Not exploring Altair's rage was a mistake. She didn't just appear one day shouting "KILL SOUTA!"
Introducing Eroge Girl instead of resurrecting Mamika was a mistake, especially when she was one of the more developed characters
In fact Killing the characters they did, Especially the way they did, was a Mistake. At least Mamika died via LoliNuke. Selestia Died doing the "Goku Holds Raditz while Piccolo Makankosappo's him" move and Alice died to "Stop hitting yourself, the Power"
Not having characters watch their own shows or at least do more fan interactions was a mistake. At least the Spinoff Manga went there and was interesting when it did.
The Two Seiyuu episodes where you had them playing games and going to Mamika's Funeral was a mistake. There's 40 minutes of potential character development right there flushed but 3d is cheaper than 2d so...
meant for
This. It was nice to have a karma houdini character I really liked for once.
MC is too cringy to self-insert.
3 years later I'm still butthurt about this show, I'm just hoping someone else eventually picks up its premise.
It had the potential for it all (drama, LOLDEEP, action, an episode where everyone discovers their porn) and they squandered it
>an episode where everyone discovers their porn
MC didn't even go on a date with the 2nd best girl.
Best girl was too good for him so it's a compromise
>Implying creations would be able to bypass panda
>based as fuck and no one acknowledges it
How the FUCK did they not do something like this, can't show this in my Christian animu?
>Magic trumps Panda
Also, there are stores out there...
I'm not an manga author.
A minute of silence for this jobber
This show had the weirdest fucking writing choices. It didn't know what it wanted to be and half-assed everything.
It didn't give us stupid bonding moments like sending the characters to Comiket, it didn't show the anime production process like Shirobako, it didn't even follow up on the characters' own fucking arcs. How could we care for Selesia being betrayed by her male counterpart if we barely knew the faggot?
Then there's not even any catharsis at the end, they only survive because Altair got permanently distracted by a shiny object. Then the characters that do survive get maimed by a magic gate. Fuck the 24 weeks I gave this piece of shit
And this one too
F
Altair is still my favorite character. I don't think she will ever get topped in terms of coolness and she even has a character song which is rare nowadays.
