I think I said "oh no" a total of four times this chapter.
Good chapter, no stand out huge jokes but still a decent romp.

There's a huge stand out joke in mashle this week so there is something to fill in the gap.

I think next week's CP is due to the fan contest results being published so it doesn't mean anything unfortunately since they'd have it scheduled for a while
It was at the end of a tournament arc that lasted around a third of the manga's lifespan. We all thought there would be another arc after that but it just ended once that tournament concluded.
For what it's worth Samon-kun also got a CP twelve chapters before it ended, and that was a ways into its final arc too.

I'm gonna be honest, I'll take the news of at least 6 locked chapters as a net positive as this point. I wasn't hoping for this much a month ago when the first volume dropped.
Each volume has 8-9 chapters in it, so at the very least it's going to reach David-kun's length.
Good chapter, I actually like how much this manga has strayed from Mitama actually exorcising (which if I remember right he hasn’t done since chapter 3) and just has Rena befriend the spirits.
there's only so much comedy you can wring out of "guy tries to do thing, but he's bad at it and retarded." Someone in another thread compared early Mitama to Zenitsu, which is 100% spot on, and the reason the early chapters suck. I'd take special grade curse use Rena over Mitama actually trying to exorcise spirits any day

He kind of tries to exorcise the detective's grandpa but he never passes on. His mentor and BODY tried too but it didn't really work either.
It shifted the main character and support character status (it's basically what happened with Dr. Stone for a recent example).
It was very subtle change, but it really paid off. It went from

What impressed me the most is that it happens as early as the first Yuko chapter and I didn't even notice it the first time around. It wasn't until the second Yuko chapter that I realized that Rena was generating a lot of the jokes and Mitama's crybaby gag was actually the reaction to them.

Mitama and Mashle gave me around the same number sensible chuckles this week and actually managed to give the asshole rival a bit of depth. Good job.
Mashle had one of its strongest chapters this week and it still didn't manage to make my top 5 of the week. Mitama, on the other hand, had this amazing gem of a chapter. Good to see Chara got what was coming to him. He is basically everything detective bro always feared

It's not perfect but what we got still kind of kept in line with the spirit of the joke.

Really like how Rena is completely out of touch with how fucking weird it is to care or interact with spirits as much as she does without coming across as a complete idiot.

One of the villains can control evil spirits. He has the exact same move where Rena threw a bunch of spirits at BODY and he never used it again which disappointed me and the nips called her a Special Grade Curse User ever since.

Unlike Taiju, Mitama still takes turns sharing the focus with Rena. It's just that most of the gags revolve around the spirits instead of his supposed incompetence as an exorcist.
