Do you have any proof?
Best/worst Doraemon long story?
Best: Seel Troops
Worst: Robot Kingdom
>Be me
>Have stupid friend
>Always have to fix their shit before it effect others and yourself
Fuck I'm Doraemon...
Do you also have magical gadgets?
So with fifty years of this robot cat to catch up on, what do you guys suggest as the essential Doraemon reading or watching?
Most of it is episodic so there no mandatory story. But the long stories is pretty good and i would recommence them.
My favorite will always be magic kingdom and castle in the sky
dekisugi is too OP for long story
I still find it very interesting that the series was never popular in North America despite being huge in just about every other place on the planet.
Well it would be the first
dora baseball is a good spin off for sport fag
The Doraemons army is also a good spin off.
read all the long story too
start with any random gadget of the week chapters to understand the gist of the world building, then go to the long series or read the off brand doreamon series they are good too. pict related was probably my most fav
Best: Nobita and the Galaxy Super-express
Worst: Nobita and the Animal Planet
americans like brain-dead shounen like dbz or naruto
Cause most of Doreamon stories are anti-violent while American is all about that.
My parents in their 60s love the new netflix dub
Did Sewashi send Doraemon to the past to change Nobita's future or he do so to ensure it? There are several stories when Doraemon/Nobita tries to change the past yet they end up ensuring it happened/even causing it happened. Is this story a closed time loop sort of thing (like the first Terminator movie)?
Shiroemon Best Boy
hiroshi is just ad chader version of chad nobito
Best: anything made by the original mangaka
Worst: anything not made by the original mangaka
I doubt Fujiko thought that far. If Sewashi didn't send Doraemon to Nobita, he'll ends up marrying Jaiko and fucking up his life so it's not really closed loop. See the problem? Fujiko just use whatever convenient time travel rules to suit the story.
Hiroshi kinda reminds me more of Shiki than Nobita for some reason
It is definitely possible for things to change, that's the whole premise of why sewashi sent doraemon to the past.
I think the analogy used was that the flow of time works like traveling to another city, you could go by train or plane or whatever but still end up at the same destination. When you time travel to change the past, you aren't changing the destination; you are changing the mode of transport.
Similarly, there are multiple ways for nobita to reach the same destination i.e sewashi is born and sends doraemon to the past. Sewashi wants a better route.
don't think too much about it
another theory is that what Sewashi shown Nobita was fabricated image. I mean adult nobita doesn't even fucking look like that.
How many long story that original mangaka make? The regular one I think only get into vol.45.
16 out of 24 original long stories is drawn by original Fujiko F.Fujio himself the later 8 long stories is concept/ story/ character design or a few pages was draw by the original mangaka and was finish by Fujiko Pro
I still cannot find any logical reason why Suzuka likes Nobita. Is it because he saw her naked countless of time?
Shizuka is 100% a gold digger only falling for nobita because doraemon gadget out weight suneo money
Dekisugi is shizukas main love interest. Nobita is more of a second choice.
I mean he did save her a bunch of times during their adventures.
she's a kid but it pisses me off how many time she ditches nobita to go along with suneo's expensive trips
too bad dekisugi is out of her league
Speaking of which, I know that Doraemon rules Southeast Asia, but how about other weeb regions of the world such as Europe and Central/South America? Did they air Doraemon there?
Shizuka pitied Nobita honestly. See that chapter where future Shizuka is lost in the snowy mountains while hiking.
Nobita chases her since elementary school.
desu nobita could have chosen someone else from his harem instead
yeah but he's the only one who is willing to accompany her. maybe she's touched by how much nobita loves her
That applies to a few things.
Sanrio is absolutely enormous in Japan, but most Americans only recognize it as Hello Kitty.
Moomin is huge in Japan too, but it's really obscure in America.
But I think Japanese mascots are probably the most stark cultural contrast. So many of them are extremely popular in Japan and treated with respect, while in America, mascots are treated as punching bags and meant to act like incompetent goobers.
what harem? you mean the people who are
1/ from the past
2/ from different planets
3/ living in different countries
4/ fucking robots
different country or time is easy when you have a fucking doraemon.
The magic girl is different story tho
we never see doraemon with an adult nobita, or even middle schooler nobita.
Well it seem like marry robot isn't a strange thing in Doraemon time
So only small parts of franchise are subbed, right? Sad, I don't to watch dubs
we can all agree that Snow sprit is the perfect waifu for nobita all that he wanted from shizuka and non of that gold digger
I was gonna say Jaiko, but I forgot that was who he originally married. They do seem pretty happy together though.
Also, there is literally nothing wrong with fucking robots.
>Not Magic Girl who shared so many of his good personality traits
she's also a homicidal yandere that melts in the morning
who is magic girl again, i forgot
fair
desu all the best girl are nobita harem
>Riruru
>Snow spirit
>Miyoko
>Sophia
Miyoko
A literal cat girl.
still cant get over the fact miyoko look like nobita mom and her father look like future jaien
oh, i only read manga so i have no idea who this is
they all from long story of doraemon
Riruru is from : Nobita and the Steel Troops
Miyoko is from : Nobita's Great Adventure into the Underworld
wtf i don't think "Nobita's Great Adventure into the Underworld" was published in my country when i was a kid.
it the magic world one it just have unrelated name to the story somehow
I think they kinda add in the romance subplot in Underworld. There like 2 girls that like Nobita in the long stories, one is from Steel Troop and one is from The Space Cowboy one.
Does anyone else remember the long stories primarily by their volume number?
Like 3 is the dog one, 5 is the magic one, 7 is the robot one, 11 is Arabian nights etc.
yes
>Galaxy Express
Patrician taste. Galaxy express is my all-time favourite with The Legend of Sun King in 2nd place.
Is Doraemon series including episode, manga and movies an Isekai? Any arguments?
The only time doraemon become isekai was when what-if box was used, like in the Adventure into The Underworld. Otherwise everything is happening in the same universe regardless time and place.
Kinda explain the changes in storyline and the more apparent "shonen-ish" trope.
