Gon is so consumed with bloodlust and revenge that he sacrifices his own humanity and innocent character in order to obtain the power needed to defeat his nemesis. When Killua finally discovers Gon, he barely recognizes his own friend. And if you keep reading the chapter, you'll recognize that Killua's shock and disgust over Gon's conviction is heavily emphasized.
It's not like Gon just had an innocent power spike. He basically committed a selfish suicide to fulfill his revenge, forcing his closest friend (to whom Gon is his only friend) to jump through a million hoops, including smuggling a Calamity out of her strict confinement, to save Gon from imminent death. The transformation seriously damaged their friendship, and after all that shit Gon put Killua through, how can their friendship ever recover?

HxH is actually good but Togashi hasn't released a chapter in over a year. Bleach is slightly better than One Piece. One Piece is just a cycle of Luffy beating up some asshole ruining a dumb island for retarded reasons.

It's good, but psuedo-intellectuals started on about how it is some amazingly deep deconstruction of shonen themes and so the pendulum swung back about how overrated it is and so on. Similar conflict to the Eva fans who wank the show about how smart it is and the haters who pick at every little aspect.

The truth of Hunter x Hunter is that it is a very entertaining, shonen-like anime with great fights, cool worldbuilding, one of the best power systems and on top of that, yes, it does have deep themes that are explored through the characters in an engaging way. It is most definitely worth the watch, it's just that the people who didn't agree with how hyped it was ended up becoming insane during their stupid internet arguments with the ones who wanked the show.

Hunter x Hunter brings new stuff to the table and isn't a fully fledged, drowning-in-tropes shonen. Those other shows are fine if you are a kid, but HxH actually has the capacity to entertain any age group on some level, and so is worth the watch

Everyone who watched 116 was having chills and shivers from Gon's behavior. He was unpredictable and intimidating because you didn't know what he was going to do. When he threatened to kill Komugi, in that moment I realized I'm watching a masterpiece.
He was so intimidating that he kept both Pitou and Pouf under his control with only words.
