Defeating Lucci wasn't actually about defeating Lucci, it was about overcoming the World Government and their bullshit.

A personal favorite. He’s the first antagonist to challenge Luffy for the title of Pirate King. He also really cares about his crew. There's a tragic irony to him being surrounded by the dead because he's still haunted by the death of his crew, as well as being considered a shadow of his former self.

A true neutral character. He’s just a guy that has a job to do. He doesn’t question the World Government despite them having an unfair justice system. However he also doesn’t abuse his power as warden and even protects the prisoners from serving any punishment outside of their sentencing. This means he will protect prisoners from being killed by his underlings, peers, and even higher ups. He was also one of the few opponents Luffy couldn’t actually beat.
