Bakugo is insufferable and worse than Sasuke

Main reason why I’ve been so turned off from the whole series lately.

Even by shonen rival standards... he’s the worst and is not close.

It is more apparent in rewatches as well.

Not only if he an insecure one dimensional insufferable bully with zero redeeming qualities... but he doesn’t even have a sad or shocking backstory like Sasuke that would explain why he’s such a POS. Nope, the dude has a regular childhood and family.

Am I supposed to feel sorry when he’s crying because he’s insecure about Deku? Is perplexing! Get the hell over it like every other kid at UA you insecure twat.

Dude is garbage, no one in the show barely calls him out for it, he gets praised as a genius and in top of everything I’m supposed to care about his tantrums because he feel his victim isn’t as much of a victim anymore and that frustrates him...I feel like Hori insults my intelligence sometimes. The worst part is that he went through some “character development” but still as one dimensional as ever. One trick pony. Even peak asshole Sasuke in late Shippuden had some sort of reason for losing his mind... Bakugo has zero backstory other than pride.

It doesn’t help he’s a fan favorite in Japan for some reason.

Man has this arc has been so indifferent to me it’s crazy. It’s like I care about it because of the fight but the fight wasn’t as hyped as everyone made it out to be and I really do not care about the school festival but interested into seeing where everything goes afterwards since I am animeonly. I hope the past two or three episodes are worth it because it seems like nothing will surpass Season 2 and 3

My biggest gripe against Bakugou as a character stems from his relationships or lack of meaningful ones. I can get behind Todoroki's story because of his strained relationship between him Endeavor and the rest of his family. I can understand Izuku's mindset because of his mother, All Might, Mirio , Iida and so on. I can't say something similar for Bakugou because most of his relationships kind of come off as shallow. His parents hardly seem to matter to him and despite knowing All Might's secret he has yet to interact with him in any meaningful way. Kirishima is basically at his beck and call to the point I have to wonder if they are actually friends and his interactions with Deku and the rest of the class seemed to have devolved to praise for minor acts.
