Anyone else remember this shit?

>image born date: May 2010
Yeah, I remember.

Attached: higurashi.jpg (636x510, 105.65K)

Even in my meme spouting highschool days I hated these

I'm gonna be the weird one out here and say these types of memes were far more tolerable than most any """"joke"""" post 2016.

Hard to believe that people would get even more unfunny and basic but here we are

I remember this
youtu.be/C_hdn31l3CI

>motivational posters
I still remember fapping to jailbait motivational posters.
No pedo, i was as young as them.

Attached: JJBABalls.jpg (750x600, 125.93K)

They were a product of their era, only funny because regular motivational posters were all the rage with normalfags at the time. They just seem like a fucking cringefest now. But so is the modern "meme" that's just family-guy-style "WHEN YOU X THE Y" garbage lazily pasted above or below a tv show screencap

>fapping to jailbait
times were simpler then

Attached: despair-motivational.jpg (750x600, 38.77K)

No amount of nostalgia will convince me that demotivational posters and image macros weren't absolute proof humanity is beyond salvation.

dont forget the yuno ones

Attached: Honestly.jpg (750x600, 54.4K)

I don't find demotivationals funny anymore but at least they fit in with the culture that the site had at the time.

Now rage comics and advice animals? They can fuck right off.

Attached: 1579701243018.jpg (528x376, 149.86K)

This shit has always been cringe to me, even when I was at my peak levels of cringe when I was 16 in 2006.

What would be the fresh new meme that would fit in with the culture this time around? Wojak and Pepe can fuck right off for obvious reasons, but what would be the "culture" then?

No. Motivational posters somehow manage to be worse than even today's "humor".

What's wrong with wojack and pepe, apart from their exposure outside of here? Serious question

it's being constantly spammed everywhere when it should make room for a new memes
also it's about people who spam wojak and pepe/ They are super annoying

they were cringe, but they were sincere. and there were fewer of them. Things like ORLY Owl, Ceiling Cat, Lolwut Pear, were simply dressing, never the salad.
Nowadays, image macros are plentiful in variety and are relied upon to carry the bulk of the intended (un)irony

Fair enough. Yet a lot of the reason for that popularity is their versatility. They, and their many variations, can convey a huge number ideas. A significant portion of posts can simply slap one on and it wouldn't be amiss.

I miss lolcats.

Fuck forgot image.

Attached: 5.jpg (236x304, 15.65K)

Image macros have become so far gone they've become funny to me. Just look at this shit.

Attached: 1583458153502.jpg (1080x1063, 368.33K)

I fucking hate that sheep like humor. They're laughing because they're supposed to laugh at the picture, not because the picture is funny.

I think you're right about most memes from that era relative to now, but these were usually very meh

I think it's not just about the meme, but the sincerity behind it.

I agree. I like post-ironic memeing, but when it's essentially the norm it becomes really dull

I used to collect them in a Word document during school

>Yet a lot of the reason for that popularity is their versatility.
Anything would be as versatile if it had the same amount of edits as wojaks and pepes, which many are made for the sole purpose of shitposting, which is part of the reason they are cancer. The rest could easily be replaced for a better reaction picture.
They are popular because they are the basic shitposting tool available. Are you a normalfag with no actual hobbies and interests? Don't worry about not fitting in a community, you can skip actually being part of that community and go straight to ruining it with your low quality bait that retards with fall everytime with your kit of over 500 edits of the exact to memes regardless of where you are!

What about Long Cat?

Attached: LongCat.jpg (354x640, 42.59K)

the versatility allows for the edits, moreso than exists because of the edits.
pepe and wojak in their many forms are essentially feelsgoodman.jpeg and feelsbadman.jpeg, aka approval and disapproval stamps
pretty much got the whole spectrum of reactions covered with just the two

LONGER

Emojis are "versatile". They can fuck off.

Happy to know he's still alive.

Attached: d8d.jpg (615x750, 63.99K)

yeah I like em

Attached: 1516527256303.jpg (750x600, 56.1K)

I still find this one funny even after all these years.

Attached: efb227deb853268fc53896929e79e470.jpg (640x512, 41.96K)

I fuckin love longcat. Thanks for posting this.

Attached: 1565126281912.jpg (599x428, 43.16K)

Yes. I knew they were cringe even when I was the most cringe weeblet

Thankyou for the longcat, user

Thanks for the higurashi spoil my friend im at the beginning of the VN

I liked the shit brix ones. They had some fun stuff at times.

I miss the gaijin meme, haven't seen it since drake took over

Soijak
That's why, at least pepe is funny every now and then and I like the historical wojaks

I can't help but think people who post soijacks look like them
I bet they don't even hit the shower in a month

The fact that they're obsessed with appearance related memes like soijack and Chad is quite telling.

I miss feels guy
It used to be a meme that brought us together now it only divides us

Attached: 1322260422007.png (922x882, 124.85K)

it was a different time
a better time
anyone got an updated version of this?

Attached: 1561650168453.jpg (720x695, 60.01K)

are you incapable of using the text tool in paint

Memes have always been somewhat forced, but now it's just people's seething rage at bearded men drinking onions milk for whatever reason

>2010 was 10 years ago

Attached: tfwtfw.jpg (720x695, 39.82K)

I dunno man, I want to agree since this wave of "ironic" and/or "relatable" humor that's been going on for years is genuinely ruining the internet for me, and motivational posters are shit but they have this weird veil of innocence to them. But at the same time even as young as I was when these were a big thing I don't remember any that stuck out as particularly funny.
So it's a battle between shitty modern humor, most of which is just being an asshole in some way and trying to excuse it with a veil of irony and unfitting sarcasm, or something low effort that just isn't a good format and was never executed particularly well. I think I'd have to go with the modern jokes as much as I hate the mindset they come with.

Kids born in 2000 are starting to have kids of their own now.

We are?

i remember i used to go to obscure websites just to avoid this garbage

Attached: 1582250163481.jpg (586x598, 168.9K)

I was thinking that with all this sickness going around and everyone being posted up inside is it safe to assume that there is/will be more older users posting or lurking atm?
It's a nice thought that with every1 being advised to distance themselves that old users would be compelled to come here interestingly enough.

Skyrim came out 9 years ago
New vegas is almost 10
Oblivion was 14 years yesterday

>I'm gonna be the weird one out here and say these types of memes were far more tolerable than most any """"joke"""" post 2016.

Why use vidya examples and not anime?

>quote a post and post a wojack
sure showed him

Because Yas Forums crossboarders don't watch anything besides never ending battle shonen and Trigger shit.

Because I'm replying Oblivion and those were the first things to pop into my mind.

Fractale was 9 years ago
Spice and wolf was 12
Guilty crown is 8 1/2

Mushishi is nearly 15 years old.

Fuck, no way.
First anime I loved enough to purchase the English dub.
