Most people liked OPM for the slice of life/superhero parody of the first season and it lost the first aspect after Garou was introduced. Also the first 40 chapters were adapted 1:1 but ONE's pacing went to shit after that and the only way he and Murata could try to fix it was add a shit ton of new stuff which also didn't help. Season 2 was the final nail in the coffin because it took so long to come out and was utter trash.

The manga only keeps increasing in popularity, the only reason the "hype" was lowered was because season 2 was handled like shit.

This "what killed the hype" is litterally just a recurring meme on opm threads anyway, can't believe people are STILL seriously answering that shit.

Even mangadex comments have a ridiculous amount of people blaming Murata for changing ONE's story. After all this time I'd have expected only shitposters to be left but people still seriously believe that crap.

Murata talked about it at some point in a stream and he was genuinely pissed that people keeps saying/asking that.

Murata does make changes but they are usually One approved so there is that. Plus the manga was already its own thing for a while so it was not really going to just be a 1:1 of the web like some want it too. I can get not liking the changes its just that the blame all on murata is pretty unjustified when hes not even writing the damn thing. At this point the hype, Murata filler are just memes people take too seriously. At least Db threads make a meme use of how terrible jiren is and making it funny.

I'm gonna guess it's because the series wasn't popular enough yet when she appeared and died. And the Anime did a shit job with her so it didn't help.

KEKW even a minor villain like Stain is way better than a main villain Garo who appeared for like half the series.

Well its not the series itself but basically he fore fronts tatsumaki and fubuki carrying the weight. Most fanart for females even with introduction of psykos is just them. only ones to come close was lin lin and mizuki. Dont know why eyesight is neglected despite a good design but it hurts.
Flash would have been the first guy to slay her the first chance he got so unlikley.

Madhouse is hit or miss as well but I would take my chances with them as odds are better despite how they did did not care for later seasons of overlord.

Funny enough the cgi was decent in s2 compared to Madhouse only problem was that Elder's was inferior to Senior's CGI plus the color scheme was meh for him. Not to mention he was floating instead of interacting with the actual environment.
