This manga is in a tailspin heading faster towards the ground with every new chapter. I really hope there's some sort of twist coming up and it turns out Isayama has just been fucking with us all this time. It will be fucking horrible if the story ends in the direction it seems to be heading with Gabi and co. killing Eren and being the heroes of the story.
And before someone says you only care about Eren, i will be perfectly fine with Eren dying then people raping his corpse as long as the rest of the world doesn't suddenly fall in love with the Eldians and continue with their genocide.

It's not really possible to get a peaceful ending. Look at what's happened, Eren just kicked off the end of the world. Even if all the powers of the Titans vanishes forever, even if armaggedon is averted, they came THIS FUCKING CLOSE.
It's like the missiles were IN THE AIR before they were shut down. No-one's going to go "Oh thank goodness, we forgive you now".

You forgot that the Walltitans haven't reached the mainland yet. Heck, I'm pretty sure that they haven't even reached the ocean yet. So if they try to Talk no Jutsu Eren like they planned to do, there's easily enough time to make them stop without destroying the outside world. Why else would Isayama shoehorn 4 chapters of alliance set up?
