Quarantine allowed me to binge watch this entire show. Really wasn’t that good, so boring I fell asleep 3 times...
It was the kind of show you had to watch with Yas Forums while it was airing.
It was great. I binged watched Darling in the Franxx and Symphogear
It's called triggershit for a reason.
A lot of mindless drones will tell you their stuff is "fun" or "hype" and "made to watch in a group" but the truth is that it's just boring, shallow and pointless.
Instant red flag
>Really wasn’t that good, so boring I fell asleep 3 times. Wasn’t nearly as entertaining as TTGL
Literally how, Gurren Lagann is a million times slower despite ultimately saying the same or less amount of things.
That's exactly how you know the show is objectively shit.
Fast pacing =/= good show
Gurren Lagann has multiple and thorough fights against the bosses and rival
KLK has a gauntlet against the bosses only for one of them being a joke, another being paced longer for no reason, the another being skipped, and the solutions to each of the fights is another power being bullshitted after another so much so the characters are self aware about it and go “oh shit this isn’t supposed to be happening”
I really hate how the student council, after all the terrible shit they did and put the people through, even if it was just a front, never had to repent for everything they did. They attempted to kill people and ruin their lives and yet everyone forgets about it when mommy gets her chest sliced into
the best anime
so fucking good
all of you are weaklings
Oh and I one died besides the villains
the whole movie started with ryukos dad being killed you stupid dumbfuck holy shit
People who think TTGL was better than KLK need to be thrown off a cliff.
Good first half, like so many other anime. Then it fell to pieces.
Except the first half wasn’t very good either. Satsuki and the elite four are such unthreatening antagonists, none of the fights are good, and the comedy is horrible.
shit la shit was dogcrap, fuck off contrarian.
>whoa her suit changed color!
So fucking boring. This show was such a snoozefest.
TTGL has the power ups completely change the mech design, grow several million feet, and start throwing around galaxies as throwing stars. That’s how you actually create hype not this recolor bullshit.
did you ever hear of inferno cop?
maybe you're just gay
>more recolors
Go watch dragon ball super if you think that lazy garbage is actually hype
yup. totally 100% super gay. did you tell your mom already?
yeah it is shit, save this cutie
Garbage thread full of tastelets.
Ok, klk is a lot of things but fucking boring isn't one of them, how in the flying fuck did you find it boring, this is like one of the most hyperactive show ever.
it's just that one spammer samefagging
Everything is better when you watch it with other people. Still shit though
it's still the best sonic adventure 2 battle anime adaptation by far
I enjoyed watching Kill la Kill. So this is what it's like when you dont watch it with anons? You fags are too negative about everything
KLK needs a TTGL style compilation movie/remake.
>Tried to watch ep 1 4 times
>Can never finish
TTGL is 10/10 btw
TTGL definitely did the 2nd cour alien reveal a lot better. I think fondly of the first half uniform jobber of the week episodes
>Fast pacing =/= good show
It is when its the main appeal of those shows. Sure both can be enjoyed on deeper levels but if I want the most thought out story I'm not gonna go to fucking Gurren Lagann. Not to mention it has just as many filler bosses but the bullshit powers in Kill la Kill are a lot more creative than muh bigger drill.
TTGL had faster pacing.
The plot progression maybe but the moment to moment audiovisual storytelling is a lot more dense.
Better than TTGL
Everyone knows that KLK is the better show.
For me it was the other way around
Why are KLK and TTGL always mentioned with respect to each other? I know they're the same people behind it and follow a similar style and narrative structure but they're still completely different shows that can exist on their own. Just say you didn't like KLK or you did like TTGL and be done I don't care which one you liked more
I had so much fun watching this while it was first airing years ago. You might be on to something ...
Regardless, KLK is still leagues above most of the shonen trash Yas Forums idolizes.
>sure they are similar in all these significant ways but they are still completely different
Retard
Will BNA be the wild ride Yas Forums‘s been waiting for?
Franxx caused a shitstorm but didn’t quite reach the levels of hype KLK generated.
>Things can't have similar styles but be conceptually different
What? Are you braindead?
And the point I want to make is that by constantly comparing the two people start to only view one in comparison to the other, when they're completely separate ideas that exist to stand on their own
>different characters
>different designs
>different setting
>different art direction
>different tone
>different narrative
>different themes
>different music
>different sources of inspiration
Retard.
weak b8
>endlessly humps your passed out corpse
Oohh yummy huuh
Oh, so there should be a ova sequel..
I didn’t like it because it didn’t know whether it wanted to be an Ecchi or a TTGL clone
It was simply fun.
Why would it have to choose one? And you realize there was loads of ecchi in ttgl as well right
>This red pen is a completely different thing from this blue pen.
You might want to unironically go see a psychiatrist. Being unable to find commonalities between slightly different objects is a clasic symptom of many mental disorders, including schizophrenia.
TTGL and KLK are literally the same exact show, btw.
The shows are nothing alike, dumb shitposter. But feel free to start listing all the ways in which they "are literally the same exact show", if you can.
You might as well argue that if all you have is a hammer, everything is a nail and you just keep smashing it.
KLK clearly stands on its own feet and tells its own story, with lots of love put into it, completely unrelated to TTGL. If you want to bash a show for being a void, shitty copy, and lame mashup of the same old, same old, there's Promare for that.
Worst take I've ever seen. Go on then user tell me about how the themes and messages of the two are the same. And if you try pull a "hurr durr there's nothing to it it's just mindless fun" you're outing yourself as the biggest pleb on this board
>series begins with Matoi taking on leaders of different clubs with their own gimmicks and Goku uniforms
>quickly gets ditched for several aborted scuffles with the Elite Four, then switches tack again to focus on the COVERS and IT'S ALIUMS angle
I watched it for the first time this year and didn't mind it, but the pacing felt fucking weird. The start was fairly slow and set the scene and pace, slowly starts showing details of the school, then immediately launches into battles with the Elite Four and Matoi's revenge arc.
I think I prefer Gurren Lagaan because there's a pretty logical narrative flow and the transition feels smooth: Underground>Viral>Spiral Generals>Lord Genome>>>>Anti-Spiral initial attack>Arc Gurren Launch>Big Battle>TENGA TOPPEN GURREN LAGAAN
KLK's 2nd half is really similar to TTGL (giant battleship, big battle etc), but KLK had the antagonist focus jump around a lot and it felt a bit scattered to me
Anti Spiral in TTGL appear in no way whatsoever before episode 17. Ragyo in KLK is mentioned in episode 1 and showwn in episode 6. Furthermore, TTGL starts goofy and comedic and ends really dramatic and tragic, with even an awkward attempt at politics in the middle, while KLK consistently maintains an even mix of drama and comedy trough all it's run, with only occasional peaks in either side, like 4 for comedy and 5 for drama. I don't see how KLK can lack in cohesion.
So TTGL started good and got better while KLK tried to take itself seriously and got worse. Got it.
Not so much about tone, more about the narrative focus. TTGL felt a bit more consistent because it essentially split into pre-skip = LordGenome, post-skip = Anti-Spirals.
KLK went from initial focus on SoL school stuff, through to Elite Four, then sidebar for Nudist Beach stuff, then Elite Four upgrade, then the 'Satsuki isn't really evil' twist before developing all the COVERS and the 'OH EM GEE SHE IS ACTUALLY YOUR SISTER AND YOU'RE HALF WOMAN HALF CLOTHES'
I still liked it a lot, just not as much as Yas Forums hyped it up., but that's just >opinions
You should work on your reading comprehension.
Yeah, I'm not really seeing it. In both cases you have a first part antagonist and a second part antagonist, except KLK revealed the second antagonist from the start and didn't expect people to believe that Satsuki was the true villain. The early club episodes aren't really different from ones like the hot springs one in TTGL. Nudist Beach and the Devas upgrade come down to Satsuki having a more active role in the narrative than Genome simply wanting to take down humanity and reacting to them.
Everything Gainax and later Trigger worked on had fucking aliens as either the twist villain or the centre of their action shows. Come up with something new you fuckers.
