Why do people like him if he is such a bitter man?
Why do people like him if he is such a bitter man?
because he's right about everything
Hes a secret pedo much like myself
They don’t like him. They pike his movies.
He honestly seems pretty cool. The few things he seems to be bitter over are justified.
i fucking hate this asshole. I hope he dies in a car crash.
This, why do people need to like the person along with their work?
just because he's bitter doesn't mean he's wrong
He takes extremist viewpoints on everything completely lacking in any kind of nuance. He's an idiot.
>nature good
>civilisation bad
I don't know how people can sit through so many of his films
I honestly hope that one day humanity can find a way to balance both nature and civilization. Because the path we're currently on can only lead to destruction.
he has very good reason to be bitter, and his films are partially his way of communicating his vision on what he thinks we should be doing about the problems we face that he's passionate about. There's literally nothing wrong with this.
this
step one in this endeavor should be to remove the ch*nese """""people""""" from the face of the planet.
I always wondered was it really him that made great movies or was it the team around him. Then when I started a career, and seeing it for myself, yeah, he probably has great people around him that does all the real work and the credit goes to him.
Nature a shit.
his manga is better than the movies in my opinion
apparently he works the movie studio lads to the fucking bone though
He puts underwear shots in his movies.
I don't have to like the person in real life, just his films. I hate the things Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt do in real life, but I have to admit they're actors who have been in good films.
Miyazaki has made genuine works of art. Not just visually, but he's a masterwork on tone, flow and attention to detail. He does things 99% of other directors just don't want to put the time into doing, like making sure a character shows real weight when walking or having a character show their emotion through body movement rather than a close up of their face. He also does wide shots of action scenes and no shakey cam. Something most live action directors won't even do, because close up shakey cam is easier to hide flaws. He basically does everything I prefer in storyboard/direction of film. The only thing I don't agree with him on is how he looks down on TV. I think TV series are a better medium for telling a story.
He isn't actually as bitter as people make him out to be, and he makes decent work
Soulless people hate people with souls.
There is no refutation or recourse, this is a simple fact.
People who dislike this man are one thing. Those who hate him are angry because they cannot love him
>He isn't actually as bitter as people make him out to be
I'm actually not aware of any non-hateful views he has on anything or anyone.
Tom Cruise is a Scientologist so I get that, but what has Brad Pitt done?
He's passionate about the craft he devoted his life to and doesn't like how it's been raped by consumerism
What's not to like
We should find a way to live without the nature.
it offends the garbage consumers
You can like certain aspects of people while disliking others.
Just the usual liberal virtue signaling on social media and treating women like stepladders. Which I admit is pretty low key compared to most people in Hollywood, but it's still doesn't make me like him as a person. Yet he clearly is a damn good actor. He's been in half a dozen of my favorite movies and I have to admit he was the best actor in all of them.
>bitter
Nah, he's just an old hipster.
Pathetic Pedophile Otaku in denial. Even Miyazaki hates Miyazaki
Liking his work is not the same as liking the man, idiot.
He's like Yas Forums's grandpa; it's hard listening to him sometimes but then where would the medium be without him. We all grew up with Nausicaa and Princess Mononoke.
Yeah, seriously, the "humble thyself before nature's grandeur" pseudo-misanthrope shit quickly becomes grating. I mean look, I know, getting nuked sucked ass, but the passive aggressiveness for people and technology, it gets old.
Nature is a tool. We should master nature and bend it to our will - forcibly, so that it is the best version of itself by our narrow standard, forever. Weather control, efficiently designed plants and trees, and incredibly sophisticated genetic engineering that our ancestors would view as the power of God Omnipotent captured in the palm of our hand. Where's the anime where that's the positive message? Or fuck, practically any sci-fi. It's always a dystopia where everything sucks because muh hubris. Makes me want to put a bullet in an Ohmu, or better yet, a big-ass saddle on its back. I miss optimistic futurism. Fucking cynics, like whipped dogs.
As much as I love Miyazaki's films, anime would have gone mostly the same without him. He was the George Lucas style rebel who went off and made his own studio and focused on movies. When 99% of everyone else was making TV shows. If Miyazaki didn't come around, anime would have kept focusing on TV shows and manga/novel adaptations. Which is...pretty much what they did all during Miyazaki's career.
I don't think of Miyazaki as so much of an influence as much as a fluke of the industry. A welcome fluke, but still a fluke. His biggest "influence" was the hundreds of anime TV shows which referenced Nausicaa or Totoro. But those shows never really mimiced or copied him. They were just references.
Tezuka > Miyazaki
He's absolutely right about consumerism though. The same thing is happening to all the entertainment industries. At first there was a pursuit in them to be art, but now they've fallen back to simply being skinner boxes for the masses. Same exact thing happened with movies and games.
Show me a game of art
We say watsuki was based for being a pedo, what else do you require?
I think he directed movies or something
The problem with generalizations is it only takes one example to prove them wrong.
See image.
good artist but he lacks nuance when it comes to personality .He over-exaggerates his "philosophy" to the point it feels like he's just full filling the whole LE STERN SENSEI archetype. like a caricature. and Japan eats it up.
when this game was released?
as a person, can't stand the cunt. hope he gets lynched
as a director, he has one of the greatest minds the planet has seen and i hope his brain is preserved
this is leddit tier shit and so are the replies
>As much as I love Miyazaki's films, anime would have gone mostly the same without him.
I don't agree with that. His influence might not be overt, but I don't think you can just remove such a large presence and expect history to follow the same path. Evangelion, as an example, might never have existed if Miyazaki had chosen a different career.
His movies are great.
Miyazaki > Tezuka
he seems like one of the few people that actually still give a shit about producing meaningful work and not just fapbait
wow you must be very cool
Its split between garbage materialistic status obssessed normies that don't realize its their way of life he's critiquing and only like him because he's what the industry says is peak anime; and people who agree with him and are just as bitter as him.
We gotta reduce overpopulation.
> someone reminds them about the same old unsolved universal questions
> OH NO HE'S SO NEGATIVE IT'S NOT POSITIVE ENOUGH
uhhh based?
>Nature is a tool. We should master nature and bend it to our will
The thing is that it is a quite fragile tool, and we only have one of it. If we mess it up, which is easy, we all suffer. We can't simply rebuild it if we make a mistake.
Yes, but why bump the thread?
He's just a realist.
>Miyazaki is a hypocrite for criticizing society even though he lives in society
This is why Corona-chan hates us.
He's honestly not bitter or strict, he's just frank and doesn't kick around the bush. He consistently only uses polite manner of speech, some things are just hard to say politely.
He doesn't hate anime, but dislikes the route it ended up taking. He doesn't hate his son or his movies, Tales of Earthsea was just all around disappointment, he proposed Goro to work on From Up on Poppy Hill himself and but only once nudged his son in the right direction with just one painting, there's a very good documentary about it.
Based Miyazaki praise the rape scene in Royal Space Force
most well liked creators in anime are bitter old men
