But... That's not what Negi wrote. He made Yotsuba seek something more important in her life FIRST (ie. helping others) in order to "overcome" her past. The idea was to tell that you just can't undefinitely escape your demons and you'll have to confront them at some point. Really, the "trauma resolution" might have happened in the last chapter, in pic related.
