I meant more the typical lack of modern technology (there's like fridges, radios, and indoor plumbing, but that's kinda it) and some kind of pseudo-feudal society where clans of "ninjas" (more magicians if anything) rule.
I wasn't talking so much Nardo's jumpsuit either, I was more thinking the more standardized stuff, with the headbands, the forest green vests with pockets for stuff, the specific sandals (and the fishnets which looks nice on girls), the seemingly standardized weapons, etc.

Again, I'll say that Kishimoto does almost nothing interesting with it after just establishing some of this stuff in the beginning, and it's all mostly a bunch of wank in terms of storytelling, character, and action. I'm not saying it's a 'rich' setting either, just that it could have just been something if someone with some talent (so, not Kishimoto) had tried to develop it.

The designs were boring in general and a lot of them were so anti ninja that it's straight up parody and I'm not even talking about nardo's yellow jumpsuit but like bugboy's baggy clothes that would restrict movement or Lee being a copy pasta of his mentor. Fucking Kakashi and Asuma were the same from the neck down and Guy wasn't far either. Then there's the Akatsuki robes and how much they restrict movement.
As for the technology, it's very convenient, even Gintama does a better job of combining feudal setting with sci-fi/modern elements.

Lots of guys get get around his ability and that's not even counting the fact that he's simply not a good enough swordsman to keep up with a lot of guys. People saying his sword was OP are retarded.
