The 22th Volume of Date A Live is finally out, and the story has finished after 9 Years. I'll be dumping the Illustrations here.
Date A Live Last Volume
And just like that, the author will never get anywhere with any original ideas outside of DAL
>original ideas
This is Tachibana you are talking about. He wrote DAL because harem series were popular at the time and the only reason it lasted as long as it did is due to Tsunako designs. Whatever he writes next will be a total failure unless he gets another talented artist to be his desginer.
And the winner is...
The main girl, obviously.
Not Tohka, she died in Vol 20.
You wish, the author not only brought her back but he used another Tohka to create a new Tohka just to give her the victory. If what the spoilers say is true then it's convoluted and dumb as hell.
>he used another Tohka to create a new Tohka
He didn't.
How is clock?
Yes, he did or at least that's what spoilers say because the new Tohka is not even from a different timeline but a whole new recreation.
Tachibana's main issue is that his fetishes are shit. He loves yuri and crazy pervert stalkers. He will shove them in when given the chance.
He already did that in Qualidea Code and is not surprise that out of the three stories, his was the shittiest.
No you idiot. The Tohka we knew all this time is dead. Earth's consciousness which still retains Mio's will brought Beast, which is Tohka from a different timeline where Shido is dead. So the Tohka from the original world is dead and the Shido from the other world is dead. In the end, the Tohka Shido sees at the end is Beast after everything gets resolved.
Wow that sounds shitty.
Everything sounds shitty when Tohka is in the spotlight. Now you can finally leave.
That's now what the spoilers say and regardless of whatever timeline we are right now, the point remains that the author created used yet another Tohka just to make her win. The method is retarded and that's the point.
So a different Tohka won, but it's still Tohka so she is still the winner.
I liked the fact that at least Tohka wasn't revived or anything like that. I'll give him that much.
>Rando Tohka won
>Not the retard we know of
What the hell? Is this a sequel bait? This sounds horrible
I fail to see how is that a good thing. This is not much different from making a reincarnation of a girl/boy the winner. This happens a lot in asian stories, especially in Chinese ones.
It's more of an open end.
How is that sequel bait? Tohka won.
What the fuck is this retarded nonsense?
>Shido and Tohka from timeline X
>Shido and Tohka from timeline Y
>Tohka from timeline X dies
>Shido from timeline Y dies
>Shido from timeline X and Tohka from timline Y meet at the end.
Sounds more like Steins Gate to me.
Because this is some dumb ass shit. Is there some second DAL coming out? Like Shin DxD or New Testament
How is that an open end? It's obvious Tohka won, do you expected to see fucking and a wedding?
Nobody can do time travel right. Nobody.
What? Since when does bad writing equal sequel bait? The author just didn't know where to take his plot after Mio died and the result is this convoluted nonsense.
>whole final arc abou Tohka
>finally reunites with her
>they even confess how they are the most important person ever
>open end
Seriously, do you think Shidou will go back and then suddenly confess to Miku or do you need everything to be spelled to you?
The fuck is this shit.
Anyone have more spoilers.
I'm just glad Tohka won. Suck it losers.
Miku and clock looking as good as ever
That Tohka didn't win. We literally all lost, none of us won. Alt Touka is not Touka, real Touka is DEAD.
She was the obvious winner since the beginning but I don't know why you are happy. The Tohka that won is not even the original one, the author just used a different Tohka and gave her the win like that.
Remember when this shit was fun to read? Sure it wasn't amazing but at least it was enjoyable. Where did everything go wrong? 17? 18?
19. That's where the writing went to hell and Tachibana completely gave up on consistency.
The moment Tohka took in Mio's crystal.
The volume where Mio died. The entire thing was just dumb idea after dumb idea with no regard of what happened in previous volumes. It's at that point I could tell Tachibana either stopped caring for the series or just didn't know what to do with Mio.
It's april 10, Shidou is on his way to school, and then suddenly meets that one certain girl.
Shidou: “you, are----?”
Girl: “My name is Tohka Yatogami, a precious name that my most important person gave me. —isn’t it nice?”
These are the last words of the Volume.
>Remember when this shit was fun to read?
When Mio was still alive? It already got boring long ago though.
Shido and Tohka from timeline X
>Shido and Tohka from timeline Y
>Tohka from timeline X dies
>Shido from timeline Y dies
>Shido from timeline X and Tohka from timline Y meet at the end.
Sounds more like Steins Gate to me
More like
>Shido and Tohka from timeline X
>Shido and Tohka from timeline Y
>Tohka from timeline X dies
>Shido from timeline Y dies
>Shido from timeline X chases Tohka from Timeline Y and spend two months with her in the Y Time-line
>Shido X proposes Tohka Y to come to his world, but she rejects him because he's not the Shido that she loves
> Tohka Y sends Shido back to the X Time-line
> Kurumi from the Y Time-line appears and rewrites the Y Time-line
> Back in the X Time-line, the will of the world gathers mana to bring a new Tohka without memories from another Timeline to the X Time-line, Meaning this that Tohka X is dead and won't come back.
>Shido X and Tohka Z meet on the April 10th.
For me, Sounds more like Steins;Date.
It feels like the worst possible way to end DAL
I knew it, I said in a previous thread it will like the typical nip ending where Tohka appear and Shidou says "welcom home" or something like that and this ending is not that far off. Nips are so predictable when it comes to endings.
Why are nips terrible at making endings.
Oh my god
This is the ending to the first light novel I picked up. I can't find the words to express my disappointment.
I wasn't expecting an amazing ending considering Tohka was the obvious winner but I never expected the author would disregard everything right at the end of the previous arc just to make the final arc possible, only to end it in a very convoluted way.
So, how would you have written the ending? Every show that ends always gets bashed so I guess people here would do it better? How would you do it?
Would have prevented Tohka from taking in Mio's sephira, have Mio's conflict resolved and have a good ol'fashioned harem end.
Making Shidou fuck Tohka in the ass.
>have Mio's conflict resolved
You're just stating the obvious here, not being concrete with how you'd do it. Also, no harem end, you have to make Tohka the winner.
First of all, don't completely drop all the foreshadowing and build up you made during 18 volume for certain character just to kill her off 1 volume after introducing her. I don't mind having a main girl as long as the plot and characters remain consistent.
Ok then but how would you resolve Mio's conflict then?
Sexy clock
Nice, a good thing in a shitty ending.
gay
Yami's absolutely ruined
No one
