the world of SSSS Gridman is both real and a dream. It's a dream that Akane came up with and made herself, but by dreaming it it became real. Even once she wakes up, that world still continues to exist, just now the god that made it has left.
Rikka is basically Akane's real thoughts on herself while Akane in that world made herself look more how she wanted to be. A large part of their "relationship" was a thing about coming to love oneself and finally go back to a world where she's just like Rikka.
The world is still real though since Gridman, his crew and the kaiju loli are all not of that world. Instead they're interdimensional beings that all came to this world due to Alexis, who is also an interdimensional being.

The context is actually incredibly similar. One is the real self, another is the perfect self that has everything the real one lacks. The only thing SSSS added on top of it is the fact everything happens inside computer world and not IRL, hence Akane has a sexy form that doesn't look like her bland black haired IRL self.
