Those final pages look nifty. Too bad Kishi blundered the start as hard as he did. Would have been interesting to know how the series would or could have developed without the fucked up start, but alas. If he tries to make another manga, it'll probably be something completely different. Pity, I'd have liked a scifi adventure in a non-contemporary fantasy setting.

Probably not. Part of being a mangaka is trying again till something sticks so I don't think he's devastated. I mourn a bit what could have been, but I don't really mourn what we've got. Hopefully he'll put a bit more effort into a smooth buildup, next time.
