I liked it until the end of the shishigumi stuff, had a pretty bad time from chapter 48 to 100-something with the Riz stuff, although it had good moments, (I didn't outright hate it, but it felt like Paru was winging it and the turn to more regular shounen was eh, made me loathe Louis and feel like he's a chuuni), and started enjoying it once more when Legosi dropped out.

One thing I'll say is that I vastly prefer the slice of life elements to the action stuff (one of my favorite chapters was the one with the leopard girl going out with some herbivore girl, the one with beastbook).

Also, I really like the art and, in particular, those (pseudo?)watercolors the artist does.

Anime was pretty boring, It's not that different from regular awkward school romances, just with the guise of animals. The action wasn't particularly great either. Meh, 4/10

It teeters on masterpiece. It's been a bit too silly since it left school for me to call it entirely a masterpiece.

It definitely isn't furry bait, especially if you're looking at the early chapters. Paru meant what she's said: she's a weird artist who's best at drawing animals. There's a real lack of lewdness in most of the art, and even the "sexy" stuff comes extremely rarely.

The arcs covered in anime are really good, then one of the arc's after is like the highlight of the series. After that it started to be all over the place. Also it's supposed to end soon and it feels really weird but is hard to explain why without spoilers.

TL;DR Good story and world building but the pacing is inconsistent and all over the place.

These threads have gone to shit over the last year
There used to be only one thread per week (the HCS translation) and it was comfy.
Now there's a description leak thread, a raw/rushed translation thread and the actual translation has somewhere around a 20% chance of showing up at all, and all of the hype is stolen by the other threads. Not to mention the daily threads that shoot up, the masses of animeonlies that do not know it has a manga and the /trash/ general.
The dub and Season 2 are going to ruin these threads once and for all.

Fruit keeps throwing the setting under the bus because everyone and everything has to revolve around him, and because of his unique 'character' the setting and characters have to either act out of character or create inconsistences so that fruit can fit in.

Fun or not, the writting has been consistently bad and he's a worse character than the first antagonist in every aspect.

Starts out strong, only to become a trainwreck quickly after.
The world is nonsensical, the characters are incredibly stupid, and the plot is mindless with no clear direction in sight.

The only thing it has going for it is that its unique, but when critically examined it falls short.

Yeah it's pretty much the worst arc of the entire series because the mangaka wanted Haru to be more interested in Legosi but didn't know how. Picture related. Season 2 will probably be back to Kinostars.
