I use a seedbox basically as a proxy. I download anime I plan to watch there and then download them via a FTP server from the seedbox. Safer than ever exposing my IP to the public.

If you didn't know about it then you were seeding by default as it downloaded and until you removed it from your client. You have to turn it off yourself.

About 50 euros per month, that's with two 4TB drives, 250GB ssd, 32GB ram and a i7-3770. Mind you I only pay a small amount of that because I'm sharing it with some mates, hence we opted to go for a more expensive dedicated server.

Every ISP will start to throttle you if you use too much, but odds are you never hit that for whatever plan you're on. Try running a popular media site from your home connection and see how that works.

In the USA there's only one ISP per area. You choose that one or go without Internet.
