Tsubasa Chronicles is crap right?
I got big into CCS but Tsubasa Chronicles turned me off from the start. I never like stories about people regaining lost memories, it always gives me serious Kanon/Air vibes. What am I missing?

I don't like it because there was barely any Rayearth.
What the heck happened to xxholic?
I never watched it
it was loosely related but I did like it more than tsubasa
I really liked it. It was cool seeing different versions of Syaoran and Sakura. I don't think at the point I read it I had read or watched much of anything else by Clamp (maybe Tokyo Babylon) but I found the story and the action interesting enough. I like time loop stuff too and while Tsubasa's happenings did get kind of convoluted it was still cool.
Got hiatus'd again, shame because rei seemed like pure kino territory.
It ended with a To be continue, then some years ago it came back but that was the last time Ive heard of it.
You're not missing much, the story is not finished.
XxxHolic is better all around but that too didnt get finish
I enjoyed it. I wish they'd do another installment on the sequel.
The "sequel" series wasn't very good but I felt like the ending of the original series was fine by itself. Unless I'm forgetting hanging plotpoints.
I remember it going on hiatus like 4 years ago, is still didn't come back?
Weren't they going on a search to restore the clones? I think that's what it ended on.
Clamp's doing CCS Clear Card right now. Personally I think it's better than what I read of the sequel series.
Tsubasa was actually really good. One of my favorite manga.
Holic has an ending, just not the ideal one so CLAMP went back and continued then dropped it again.
What about the egg?
Wakarimasen lol
Is css going to tie in with tsubasa?
OP was good. The anime is just the animator playing dress up.
Tsubasa was overly contrived nonsense and would have been better if it remained grounded. Ironically, that's what made XXXholic not only superior but arguably Clamp's very best works. It's personal, deals with a small but developing cast while also carrying the magical elements and mystique that makes Clamp's system endearing. Rarely is the determinism regarding fate ever played so straight.
Now if only these assholes had finished X.
X will never be finished since everytime it gets picked up something horrible happens apparently.
>Dimensional hopping cast, each with some sort of magical and/or super human ability hunting for a girls lost memories in the form of feathers
>better if it remained grounded
Gonna break it to you slowly, you are a brainlet and its no wonder you thought it was contrived.
Clamp were having a middle-age crisis and make their own Violence Jack fanfic with some Saint Seiya thrown into the mix
I always thought it was weird that they did it, and then returned to CCS. It's like they couldn't get enough of CCS, so...I don't know why they even bothered making a series in an alternate timeline.
>Li accepting Tomoyo as the natural third in their relationship
Yes, this is how it's meant to be.
>xxxholic
>MC has tons of chemistry with his cake boss
>End the manga waiting for her to return rather than get with stoic cooldude male friend
>Fujos BTFO
Glorious
>Tsubasa Chronicles is crap right?
Yes
This dimension hopping crossover stuff is cursed cause of the complexity.
That said, the aesthetic was awesome and I really liked it.
It's not cursed because it's complex but instead because it's shallow fanwank. It's a show about referencing as much of their older works as possible and the entire premise is just loosely shoehorned in to make that happen. They didn't even stay true to their own characters and settings and everyone is just someone that kinda sorta looks and acts like their characters. It's garbage. It's an ensemble cast dimension hopping into settings you couldn't give a shit about.
Nope. It's pretty decent. One of CLAMP's better works imo. You just need to be able to suspend your disbelief at times and just embrace the weirdness.
Also, reading xxxholic with it makes it feel like it makes more sense, and gives you a second fun story to follow, but unpopular opinion: you don't have to read them together. Though you can't read xxxholic without Tsubasa, imo. But Tsubasa stands on its own better.
Tsubasa had a bittersweet "life goes on, but shit's not so bad now that we know what we're really doing and why" ending. I was satisfied.
>Tsubasa Chronicles is crap right?
No, it's great.
Second half is kino
DO IT FOR HIM
are y'all kidding me? it ended, but horribly
Man, what a fuckin lad. Literally did nothing wrong, did not deserve any of the bullshit that happened to him. He could have become jaded and edgy or noped out at any point, but he never did. He managed to be a selfless badass and saved everyone's hide multiple times, while also developing and maturing into a better person. This man, this legend, was the true hero all fucking along. What a guy. No, what a bro.
>What am I missing?
You are missing on a boy who is his own biological father.
I stopped giving a fuck when Syaoran was his own dad
Nah it's fun, you just can't take it too seriously. Enjoy it for what it is, crazy and pretty action/drama with fun characters. If you get too confused about the main story, just care about Kurogane instead. His story makes the most sense and he's best boy anyway.
based
It's been ages since I read it but I remember enjoying it despite not really understanding what was going on
It was pretty fuckin funny though
It was shit. Convoluted garbage with pointless fanservice.
Everything felt like self-parody.
This. Plotfags BTFO
Better than Legal Drug, Kobato, and Gate7
Worse than CCS
>stories about people regaining lost memories
Is someone gonna tell him
Fai's and Yuui's arc was peak kino
Based as fuck
>everything felt like self-parody.
A lot of it was, user. Especially the first half.
It gets truly shit later, over complicated trash. The anime though had a really nice sound track.
Fucking this. I remember reading that arc for the first time back when I was 16 and being absolutely floored by how good it was. Fai's backstory is almost Fire Punch levels of hopeless and gritty, and then theres that amazing moment when after fighting a long and hard losing battle against Asura, Fai thinks Kuro and Syaoran are fucked and he goes berserk... there are several pages of textless, almost impossible to understand magical fighting between him and Asura... In the middle we briefly see Kurogane is still alive, protected by Tomoyo's seal which stops him from dying as long as he doesn't kill anyone... And then, just when it looks like Asura's gonna fire off the volley that'll kill Fai for good... Then we hit this fucking page.
Everything is still. Everything is clear. And for the first time in the series, Kurogane has killed someone. Pure. Kino.
Then the world starts to close and Kurogane immediately gets another big damn hero moment when he cuts off his own arm so that Fai can leave the shrinking world, and it's just fucking brilliant. I still can't believe they made the comedy grumpy ninja the smartest, most selfless, and best developed character in the series. Fucking CLAMP man, I hate how they write but their moments of brilliance are worth it all.
Fai was fucking annoying
Nayrt but for most of the story, I completely agree. That's why his arc was so great in my opinion. I went in thinking I'd hate his story but instead, it suddenly made sense why he was such an annoying faggot. And afterwards, he changed and was consistently cool for the rest of the manga.
The isekai that should have ended all other isekais but instead they grew into a plague
I have just about all of CLAMPs series on my hard drive. X or Tsubasa Chronicles look the most interesting to me since I want to read a nice long battle manga next.
The only thing I remember is that there were a million clones and it was difficult to understand what was even going on because of that.
user... Chill... It was very good but please.
>Watanuki still waiting for Yuuko
>meanwhile Doumeki's identical-looking grandson visits Watanuki every day
Jesus how can a man be so cucked that it passes down his bloodline like that?
Tsubasa is a good one as long as you're the type who appreciates good art, fun fights, and character growth more than a coherent plot.
The summary in the epilogue kinda explains it, or at least is as close to an explanation as you're gonna get.
lol Fei Wong Reed literally destroyed logic
There's a sequel where Watanuki takes over the shop.
>tfw I was today years old when I realised that tsubasa was isekai
How hasn't this had a huge revival now that isekai is the hottest shit?
What was with all the fucking vampires though??
Less confusing than RG Veda
