It did win a small contest to determine who gets a new voice drama. From what I can tell, it's above average in terms of popularity for an isekai. As for self insert fantasy, probably, but that's almost all isekai. MC goes from being based to infuriating, and the worst part is that all of it is still in character for him. At least his robot sidekick and cheat item is there to slap sense into him and force it.
